Irish sausages are the best around by the way-

Seriously? Richmond sausages have to be the worse sausage ever, more fat than meat!

Well, well, it wasn't me then. I bought Richmonds a short while back, haven't had them for years. Cooked the first lot (in a pan) and they were fucking revolting, you wouldn't give them to a dog, so I thought I had done something wrong. Second lot defrosted in full, used a slightly different cooking technique but same result. Threw the rest out. Stay away from these cunts.

Yeah agree, Richmond are fucking rank and they produced one of the most annoying TV adverts of all time.

Over here you can only buy frozen if you want British style..

I figured you'd be stuck for getting fresh ones out there.  One of the few things I miss about this place when I travel is a good fry up breakfast.

Do you mean keep them in the freezer, surely you buy them frozen? I keep them in the freezer sometimes as they will go off if left in fridge for too long?

They are also great for reviving limp chips that you might be dragging home after a post-pub pit stop at the kebab shop

Frying is frying, Roasting is roasting, boiling, steaming etc etc

Air Fryers! Bollocks to that.

Each to their own but a good sausage is done in the pan, NOT in some modern-day gimmick of a fryer......

Air fryers😡 Dogs etc

you can absolutely get  the same result, people that say otherwise have been overcooking and drying them out. don't overly prick them like you would for the pan, one will do or none at all , and use very little oil as they will end up too greasy, and make sure you turn them at least once. finally subtract 20% cooking time and 20 degrees from oven instructions and you perfectly cooked sausage with very little fuss!

Very rarely use the conventional oven nowadays, apart from pizza which is a cսnt to get into an air fryer.
Was surprised to find it also cooks scampi very well.
With regards to sausages, have found that they need to be de-frosted and pricked first. 14mins on full power (200) and turned 3 or 4 times. Come out lovely and dark.
Same with burgers, although on 180.

Oxbore you have chucked your sausage into few things hotter than an air fryer in Bangkok haven't you!
Unlike you, though, none were ladyboys or under-age raspberries, about whom you repeatedly demonstrate a great passion.

I have one that does a lot of other things, to be fair.

Just used it to "oven" dried the tomatoes I brought in on our first day of snow this week.

Store in some oil with garlic and spices and they last a fair while.

It also nice for other things, if you don't want a warm oven on in the summer.

the learning to cook part is the recipe and what to cook when, not the literal action of turning a fucking oven on, did you think that was the tricky part?
Yeah chucking absolutely anything and everything into an air fryer is an art. learn to cook.
Luddite! well I hope you're using a wood burning stove and not cheating with one of those newfangled gas contraptions

Yes I will. So come on detail then, how long in the air fryer? do you defrost them first (I suspect not) and do you flip them halfway through?
Frozen bangers are probably going to take 15-18 mins. Fresh bangers will be quick - Probably looking at 7 - 10 mins at most. If you have a good air fryer probably the lesser.

My advice would be to defrost first so you get them done quicker. But be wary, you need to keep your eye on them. After they start to colour check them regular and just give them a good shake. The hot air circulates so they do get an even colour, but you just need to make sure they don't stick, so that's why you give them a good shake regularly.

They never split (well, mine haven't) and they always come out perfectly cooked.

we have even gone proper middle class and got a meat spike that tells you temp. 68 degrees is bang on. And let them sit for a few mins before eating.

OK thanks. I normally have my air fryer on full heat as when you look up how to best cook something, or someone gives you some advice, it/they normally just tell you for how long, rarely mentions a temp like it would for oven cooking, but maybe for sausages go lower so they are cooked inside properly, the max temp on my air fryer is 200c.

Sorry - Yeah meant to say - That is based on 200. We can turn ours down but we just go with standard setting.
