Any ball over the top catches out Kilman (turning circle of an oil tanker), Mav and Rodriguez. Wan-Bissaka’s pace saves us because he at least gets close enough to hurry opponents lining up an easy strike.

But worse than the lack of pace is that utterly STUPID tactic of tucking our full-backs close to our centre halves when we don’t have possession - even deep in our own half.

Sure, it creates a central low block, which is nothing more than Moyes used to do. But unlike even Moyes, it makes it easier to play against, because the opponents always have two free players waiting in space for delivery of the ball: the two wide men who our full-backs are actively told not to follow.

So teams find it too easy to keep possession against us deep in our half. It has the effect of just pinning us back into our own half regularly! It’s one of the most utterly crazy tactics I have ever seen. It is absolutely fucking mental.

Combine it with our lack of pace defensively, and we’re all over the place. As you can see.

Another massive issue is Antonio and Bowen's inability to maintain any sort of possession when we do go forward.

AWB is the only positive. They have to stop passing to Antonio cos he always gives it away. He’s completely lost what he had.

That about sums us up there. Onana gifts us possession 30 yards from goal bowen and antonio practically collide and antonio slots it backwards to Garnacho nearly gifting the mancs a breakaway.
