threesixty wrote: 02 Nov 2024, 18:19 I feel like we have some very well paid players who are allowed to get away with very basic errors. I think it’s been going on long before Loppy. Who really thinks this is a result that would never have happened last year?

Fans keep thinking it’s about formation and player selection. But is it really? How can you legislate for the 1st goal? How do 2 CD’s allow a striker get between them unmarked if they are not ball watching? And for both of them to be ball watching at the same time?
who can you drop for the next game to punish that lapse? No one. there are no understudies, no way of disciplining anyone it seems.

And alavrez? Ffs. How can you have played in the prem for well over a season now and still make the same crappy tackles and get the same yellows. You were banned last season for consecutive yellows yet you can’t help yourself.

The attack thing was a problem but we were dealing with it. Woods hadn’t done anything. Then boom.. sloppy bullshit mistakes that youth don’t even make. If woods scored the goal but the defender challenged him, I’d be alright. But to have no one near him? Ffs.

We can beat bottom 10 teams ok. But anything above 10 and we just don’t have it. Forest are in the top 4 now so on form this isn’t a surprise. But it’s not our quality. It’s not formation. It’s just shitty stupid errors and discipline. It’s not on.

On the first, it was Alvarez in front of wood and mavropanos behind. Mav just shouldn't be played at this point. His errors lead to a goal almost every time. We are much more organized when it's just Todibo and kilman

Another flip flop from the Spaniard, surely on borrowed time if this continues, we look awful and all the players looking at each other with a confused look on their faces sums it up.

Talented squad though. Very sad situation. I really enjoyed being in Europe and now we seem to be heading back to pre-Moyes nonsense.

Today I saw one of the most talented playmakers in the League being used as a false 9.

This might have worked as long as Alvarez was around to win the ball and supply him but it was a very high risk strategy that blew up in Lotepegui’s face. His reaction demonstrated he’s not up for the job.

Lol! He's been a 4/10 all season. What are you seeing? He's absolutely hopeless
Ohh he's not been completely useless, he's managed to pick up his 3rd yellow card in a row, his 5th card of the season.

What are the Odds of that happening.... 🤔

So it was time to reinforce the defence by asking AWB and Emerson to stay back, have any of Mavropanos, Tobido or Kilman push up and above all stop the nonsense with Paqueta waiting around in the box to receive passes from Bowen or Summerville. No changes needed to be made at half time at all.

Instead what we saw has convinced me Lotepegui is lost.

I disagree, we did need to make changes at half time... just not the ones he made. Summerville should've stayed, Paqueta should've been fucked off and Soler shouldn't have come on. Why he thought those 2 would help after the first half last week, God only knows. We were effectively playing with 9 men second half

Recruitment was a right mess. What happens when you have a manager and a sporting director or whatever TS's title is who aren't on the same page. Plus a meddling cսnt owner who will ignore what either of them wants.

Yep. Also not a fan of changing from a back 4 to a back 3 confusing the hell out of the defence positionally. For me a back 4 works best for the players we've got defensively.

As for the midfield, fuck that donkey Rodriguez off out the side, he's way too slow and clumsy in possession who hurts us more than improves us. Alvarez seriously needs to sort his discipline out too or fuck off completely if he can't get a grip of it.

We really did miss Souceks presence today, after a decent 2nd half display in the last match. What happened to him, injured I presume?

Paqueta still gets selected even though he makes next to no contribution anymore. We effectively start with 10 men before we actually go down to 10 men every game he plays, with his head up his arse  hiding in games just as he does hiding from the FA..

Very much agree.  I am baffled by the signing of Rodriguez, as I said before I don't see anything that hew brings offensively or defensively.  Not sure if the bloke had a bad injury before but he is just late to everything, he just can't run at any pace, much like the rest of the midfield.  That's partly Alvarez issue as well, you can see he just isn't up the pace in this League but rather than give up chasing (IE Paqueta) he gets desperate and lunges in.  I'd say he offers a tad more than Rodriguez but only if he stops getting booked.  Has he actually completed 90 minutes without seeing a card?!  Paqueta looks like a guy who knows his career is done.  The charges against him must be on his mind but if that's the best he can do just leave him out as he offers nothing at the moment.  As for Soler, he just looks like an afterthought of a signing.  Might be decent in a team that constantly dictates the game so he can pass it around but we aren't that side, certainly not right now.  Again looks a player who needs time and space in another European League where it's all a little slower.

Bowen isn't a captain.  Early season I thought Kilman might be the best bet, but there just doesn't seem to be anyone who has a voice on them.  The whole team look very quiet, there doesn't seem to be anyone who will rattle a few cages.  I really can't think of another decent option for Captain and I think it's partially down to the lack of a bit of British grit in the side.  Even if they aren't the best players technically a couple of passionate, hard tackling, box to box battlers in the Bonds/Noble/Parker mode are what we are missing.  Plus of course that striker we have needed for god knows how long.

I don't get why the media are not training their guns on Sullivan.

It's as clear as night following day that all our owner wants is continued PL status.

Need to change the captain.
We haven't got a leader on the pitch.

Among other things!
