WHO vs. KUMB
I had a look on KUMB yesterday and was struck by how much more active it is in on there. Multiple West Ham related threads, decent debate and much more activity.
This site remains moribund despite the good work setting up the new site. Seems the owners held out too long before sorting the server issue and the site has suffered as only a handful of active posters remain, many of whom are abusive keyboard warriors who offer nothing but hatred and pettiness.
I'm seriously tempted to bin off this site and switch to KUMB, and I can't be the first. Something needs to be done.

I’d join kumb for the opportunity to punch you in the throat.
And with a neck like yours it’s impossible to miss.

Re: WHO vs. KUMB
I’d always be loyal to WHO personally. The one thing I much preferred on the old site was the layout and seeing just the thread subjects rather than topic, last post info and number of replies, just doesn’t look as nice or as easy to use, but then I’m a bit stuck in my ways too

Re: WHO vs. KUMB
Evening,
As a long time poster on WHO, most of you old-uns will know me etc, i'd like to share the following:
The main difference between WHO and KUMB is the language, you can't call anyone a cսnt on KUMB! thats bad.
I used to post on KUMB under Lord Zoltan, our old dear friend on here, and got banned for life!
The reason being is a friend of mine is a good friend of Max Kilman and gave me the heads up that he would be signing for us in the Summer.
I shared this info on KUMB, bad mistake, and got hammered because I wasn't an official ITK, they wanted to know all my friend details, boxer short size and everything, which I wasn't going to give them, and after I told them what I thought, I got banned!
They are a bunch of stupid, no mark cunts!
Thank you

Come, what are you trying to achieve here? Recruitment for Kumb? Making us happy WHOers feel inadequate? Whatever it is, it ain't going to working.

An embarrassing comparison for WHO.
So why didn't you contribute to that thread?

Re: WHO vs. KUMB
I once tried Kumb, have to say about 20 years ago. I had trouble posting, seemed the post wasn't immediate and went through some vetting. I found the discussions very stale and not very interesting. The articles and info about west ham was good though. Best thing about Kumb for me was when the .com was lost I could not find westhamonline and someone on Kumb told me it had changed to .net.
I like the abuse on here and would not like it to get sanitised. It's always had bickering between a few posters, it's annoying, but I don't see how you can get rid of it without losing something important.
No idea how to get more people on here.
I feel we have lost a lot of humour, which is sad, but it's still ok. People here are still always looking to joke and the abuse is important in that. I still think we shoukd not have a like button and just a cսnt button.
Match reports are long gone and with todays streams of every game, I don't see much point in them. When the site started there was a genuine lack of info and decent reports. It was really hard to see a game if you didn't go. Getting feedback from people that went and people abroad that actually got the game on TV was important. It isn't anymore.
I would like to see more West Ham discussion and more homour. I think that is what ths site is about. I agree that we need more eyes on here and I think the rest will come. Will says it is slowly happening. Perhaps we need to spread the word on other West Ham sites.
COYI, Perhaps you can do that when you go KUMB a kind of last favour for all the goodtimes you've had on here?
Fuck that is too much boring shit! Sorry. I'm now concerned I turning into Sir Alf!

I believe that most users on the site view the "abuse" as simply (laddish) bantz and react accordingly.
There are a few immature/intolerant/insecure/all-of-the-above posters who seem to go out of their way to take it all too personal and want to then "make something of it".
That's sad for us, and it's sad for them.
They (should, by now) know who they are (even if they publicly refuse to face up to the facts) and, for the benefit of the site, would be well advised to address these very personal, internal issues, as no amount of outside support will lead to a resolution.

I've been coming on here for donkeys years and mostly it's great with some fantastic, clever, funny people and when anyone dies or needs help everyone pulls together and wants to help their fellow hammers. I only go to kumb when this place gets taken over by conspiracy nutters and potical ranters, at my age life's too short to listen to their shit! Keep up the great work mods, most of us appreciate your unpaid work that keeps this place going

come on you spurs
Off you trot then
.. you never know , if you play your cards right , the comrades top table could fast track you to Mod status..( shop steward )...
I was actually allowed on there under the name of ADOLF.
I lasted two days before the 2 I/C comrade Pinky had me neutralised
I'm currently going by the name sweetface

Yes, I meant pecorino romano, IoC. Thanks for the recommendations.
You know what, Pickle - start that cooking thread. I'd be interested and would read and respond in good faith, only taking the piss if you really deserved it.

Hammer and Pickle" wrote: ↑08 Nov 2024, 20:40 The Pecorino Romano we get in Lidl is a perfectly good budget alternative to Parmesan. Nobody goes around chucking it out of windows here anyway.
If you want a cheaper alternative to Parmigiano-Reggiano get Grana Padano.
Pecorino(s) (sorry to Italian speakers) are a totally different flavour.

Nurse Ratched" wrote: ↑08 Nov 2024, 20:23What's pecorino? Utterly disgusting. I love cheese, but that filth takes the widdle. The only time I tried using it instead of parm, it took less than about 15 seconds for me to open the package, start grating it, the stench hitting me, the whole lot getting chucked in the outside bin, and the kitchen windows being opened.
I assume you mean Pecorino Romano
There are very few things I use Pecorino Romano for, the most important being Amatriciana where it and the tomatoes cut through the fat of the cured jowl. Probably my favourite pasta.
There are some pecorino that aren't as strong and salt, you could look at:
Pecorino Sardo Fiore is strong but not as salty and I really like it just as a serving cheese.
Pecorino Toscano Pecorino Fresco is semi soft and pretty mild. I dont remember where I got it in London but this place has it

Parmesan is significantly cheaper than Romano here. It was just awful.
