"on another ay maybe we sneak that game, but to be honest think the result was fair on balance. We have both benefitted and lost out on VAR so no complaints really. Subs were just odd tho, really odd"

"Substituting Antonio for Johnson with 30 minutes to go is about as typical Moyes as you can get. He is a stubborn manager. He will always be safety first. His supporters will say that this has mostly worked for him. But his strength is also his weakness. He will always hold back from a good position. His teams will always fall short of their true potential. On Ings, he was on fire when he came on against Burnley. Since then, he played about five minutes against Freiburg and nothing against Villa. What a vote of confidence for him from the manager."

Four times we had the ball in their net and only one counted. No lino flags either for the two goal line melee incidents either. From where I am-it was anyone’s guess but surely where there is an element of doubt with no clear handball seen it should be called a goal.

"I'm not usually one way or the other about Moyes but it always seems as though when you start to warm to him he does something monumentally stupid. Walking along the canal talking to my brother about substituting Micky for Johnson with half an hour to play (when has that ever worked?) a Villa fan overhead and said 'what was that all about mate? With Antonio on the pitch you were all over us. Johnson isn't even a striker, is he'? Possibly if Antonio got a knock or whatever we had an ex-villa striker on the bench and how often do ex players come back to bite you on the arse if they get the chance? There was literally ONE person in that stadium who thought it was a decent substitution and even Villa fans couldn't get their heads around it. Moyes was lucky the fans were booing the officials at the end as there were plenty of punters in there who were ready to give him dog's abuse. I think I was one of them."

"No time to really watch it as I was busy. They were nothing special, Moyes could have taken us within a point of Man U and Spurs lost yesterday so he put on the handbrake second half. VAR did the rest. Anything else I missed?"
Re: ‚ö? West Ham v Aston Villa - Official Match Thread - Preview
"Nutsin Loads of posts not aimed at Moyes, you’re a fucking idiot if you defend Moyes consistently when it’s blatantly fucking obvious the bloke a stubborn wanker that continuously makes the same fucking errors."
Re: ‚ö? West Ham v Aston Villa - Official Match Thread - Preview
I think we saw the limitations of both our manager and squad today. The substitution of Antonio didnt help of course but we are not going to go much further without having more of the ball and Villa just seemed to have players that were quicker and lighter on their feet all over the park. They didnt make that many chances for all that possession but the point is that we need some more pace in our team even if we get a coach who favours more of a possession game. And the squad? Villa bring on some decent players to freshen up and change tactically but we have almost no options. We essentially had our best 11 out there. Kudus looked tired today and was quiet too. We have to change the way we play to progress. Doesnt mean having 70% possession for the sake of it but some players that will allow us to press even better and play through midfield when needed. Moyes has exclusively built a squad to sit deep and counter. We need 4 or 5 players at least to play in a style where we keep the ball better imo

"Danny Ings must have walked in on him 1 day viewing sheep porn or something on his ipad that he likes to use on the touchline. No other logical explanation as to why he keeps on ignoring him this season the way he does. ""For Christmas sake Kev, what am I supposed to do with such limited resources?!"" ""Gaffer, I'm right here Gaffer! I'm sorry I didn't knock on the door, I promise I'll always knock next time if I here you breathing heavy again. Please!!"" "".....OK son, go and do your warm-up then hurry back. We need you in the middle to defend our lead, Ben. Good lad"". ""SHEEP FUCKER!!!"""

?üè¥Û†ÅßۆŢۆÅ?󠁣󠁴󠁿 ?ü¶ï ?ü§° ?üí© ?üóëÔ?è Back to the same old Moyes shit - reverted to type. At 1-0 sat back and handed them the momentum (that‚Äôs possession) and they gladly obliged. Diabolical substitutions - and as per usual came to life when they scored. The usual scenario we‚Äôve seen so often -a dodgy decision costing us the game again. Nothing will change until we change the manager.

I’m no fan of Antonio but he’s honest and was having a good game today. Our genius boss takes him off and changes the whole dynamic. Great he fucked it up again

"Nutsin 7:56 So you're calling Dino out for fluffing a couple of chances but as usual you darent call out Moyes for fucking up the whole game by making the most ridiculous decisions, sitting back and woeful substitutions... you really are Moyes's lapdog arent you?"

Its not enough for Moyes to pick his best attacking players he then needs to make sure we utilise them throughout the game. He didnt and we sat back on a one nil lead and then threw on our defenders only to capitulate to emphasise that his game management is fucking toilet... he gave them the ball and they took advantage. Yes we were unlucky with VAR but we didnt help ourselves.

Don’t blame VAR…Blame Moyes… Poor subs…defensive posture at 1-0… Johnson…??? Why no Ings…??? Antonio & Paqueta needed more time…too. Early…we’d have scored again…

"The point you are spectacularly missing VirginiaHam, is that we started with 4 offensive and 6 defensive players. After the substitution it was a 3/7 split which, whilst one that Moyes is more comfortable with, surrendered the initiative, never to be regained and ended up with us having 30% possession at home"

"It's a myth that Antonio was knackered. He would have happily carried on causing them no end of havoc, just as he did in the entire 1st half, just as he did in the game on Thursday. There was zero good reason for taking him off for a Full Back just after the hour mark having already given us the lead. And a lot of good the extra defensive player in his place proved, when they score soon after the change. Thing is with Moyes Substitutions, they are extremely consistent. Just a shame they're usually bad ones.."

the exile 11:10 Sun Mar 17 How is that Moyes' fault? Ings is not Antonio and apart from 1 game has done fuck all when leading the line. Bowen has scored plenty of goals as a lone striker so that;'s a sensible swap. Passing to our own side is not Moyes' fault. Have you ever played football beyond Hackney Marshes? You have to put Johnson in to replace Bowen's recovery work and hope Johnson gets forward.
Re: ‚ö? West Ham v Aston Villa - Official Match Thread - Preview
"After a decent first half that was very disappointing. Anyone who can't see that Moyes is almost entirely responsible for dropping two points is just deluded. The second half was mostly very poor - we reverted to Moyesball and gave up on the high press which had worked so well first half. We then saw the usual persistent problem which is that we rarely manage to string more than three passes together when playing against higher level sides. The substitutions were just ridiculous - Johnson FFS? Why the fuck not Ings after what he did against Burnley? Trying to protect a one goal lead against a strong, top four side? Moving Bowen in as a central striker when it's been obvious to anyone with half a brain that he struggles in that position? Just one other thing to mention - Paqueta wasn't really on it today. Yes, he did some good things but as so often, he kept losing the ball and needs to focus more on doing the basics well. So frustrating."
