Soucek having a decent game at CDM. Covering well, offering physicality that Guido simply can't, and only been caught out in the press once (plus the goal of course) plus gives us presence with all the long goal kicks.

Biggest worry is creating so little from open play and can't hold the ball to take the sting out of it.

He fucked up our early breakaway by being spectacularly unable to find his teammate. He had a shot from 18 yards which went 2 metres wide and has lost possession three times. What you watching?

In over 50 years of watching football I have NEVER seen anything come from a short corner, other than abject disappointment.

Agree. I always am in favour of just getting it into the danger area rather than playing about with it and possibly squandering the opportunity. Pissing bout with silly free kick routines as opposed to just getting it in the box or having a shot are just as bad.
