Only downer tonight was the injury to Todibo.  Hope its nothing serious and not the West Ham curse 🙄

Fair play to him for saying that was for the travelling fans, acknowledging the effort they’d put in.

They were excellent as usual. Loud.

Just said on Sky that we ran the second highest distance in the PL this weekend.

The biggest distance we’ve covered in a game this season by about 6km.

1. We had 50% of the possession, this is unheard of for West Ham away.
2. Didn't go into "low block" when we went a goal up and nearly scored a couple more after we were 2 up.
3. We didn't get hemmed in when under pressure and passed our way out quite well.
4. No shit bed today, second clean sheet on the bounce. Well done the defenders.
5. Determination and effort from all parts of the team
6. I actually enjoyed watching that for a change. Great result against a nouveau riche team (one with a sugar daddy) IRRROOONNNNS!!!!!!!

Oh and the ref was a total cսnt tonight.

Really impressed with Soler. I thought he bossed the midfield and was directing play. Looks more confident as well. Plus the players seem to be on a better wavelength.  Lots of intricate three-way passes to get out of a tight spot. A total surprise tonight. Hats off to everyone.  ⚒️👍

Even Manbun Walcott didn’t seem convinced that that ‘might’ be a pen
No chance

I thought Soler was really good today. At last we had people feeding the forwards with good balls. Honourable mentions to Souchek and Paqueta too.
I thought the officials were appalling. The ref and that clown Kavanagh in the VAR suite missed two sendings off with deliberate studs up tackles from Guimares and Joelinton and the two arseholes at centre backs roughing up Antonio. How did they think his shirt get ripped?

Definitely not a penalty. I’d be livid if that was given.

I haven’t been on board with the Soler bashing to date. Think he links play well and was really good tonight. Paqueta was similarly very good, dodgy backheel aside, when playing deeper, which many have always called for, and unsurprisingly where he plays for Brazil.

Some excellent performances tonight. Kilman was and generally is superb. Bowen MoM by some distance. Proper skippers display taking pressure off with important carries, along with some outstanding passes.

Let’s hope that’s a corner turned and we can get behind the manager!

Bloody hell! A really good team performance. No passengers, everyone working hard for each other - organised, cohesive, smart, solid. Good to see Soler come good. Too soon to be talking about turning a corner but certainly a big step in the right direction.

Fabianski, Soler and even Antonio men of the match.

Love him or hate him, we get better results with Soucek in the side. Thought he was great tonight.

Yep, all true.

Also liked how Lopetegui rotated the three central midfielders (Soucek, Soler, Paqueta), so that at different times in the game each one of them was at the apex of that little triangle. It meant Newcastle didn't know how/who to pick them up - so their midfield couldn't settle.

Lopetegui wasn't doing little things like that at the start of the season. It was a nice tactical touch - fair play to him.

Whilst not untrue, I’m going to file that in the drawer alongside “we win more European trophies with David Sullivan running the show”

Can't fault that display tonight, some excellent performances out there. All the more frustrating, because it shows we can do it if we put our minds to it...

twoleftfeet wrote: 25 Nov 2024, 11:18 I would snap your hands off for a 4-0 defeat.

Isaak and Gordon will toy with us and their midfield will destroy ours.

I'd take 4-0 and the fraud being sacked on Tuesday.

Then I'd give Middlesbrough a call and see what they want for Carrick.

You fucking minge.

You must be gutted we won. Another night alone wanking over Moyes for you.

It’s a funny old game!!!
best performance I’ve seen from us under JLo.
midfield looked in control. No panicking, seems everyone new the job and how to execute the plan.

Fab was particularly impressive. Never seen him come out the box so much and play the ball well. Even that made it very hard for their strikers as we had Fab sweeping up.

very pleased for Loppy.
Bowen looked like a blonde Maradona at times haha

nice one lads!!
