I was thoroughly looking forward to the start of this season

Was also prepared that things might take some time and wasn't expecting miracles over night What I didn't expect was a manager who after spending 6 weeks with the total dross he'd been left by Moyes would deem them fit to start in a premier league game And low and behold all of them played absolute shit

We're now 1 game in and none of our new players are any closer to bedding in or learning anything from their new team mates cos they barely spent a second on the pitch, half of them not at all I think it's gonna take somewhere between 6-10 games before we see the team anyone with an ounce of sense would play cos this bloke can't identify shit when he see's it I thought we was handed a miracle at half time when we went in level and low and behold he changed nothing I'm sure people are gonna make excuses for him and say it's too early to judge

But from what I've just seen today, this cսnt is David Moyes in a mission impossible mask

No progress can ever be made with Sullivan as owner.  I do believe he wants us in Europe and competing but has no strategy or plan to get there and sustain it. Never has in 20 odd years of football  club ownership at Brum and West Ham.  

Sullivan’s strange values where he throws money away on 53 strikers, made his initial money in porn, buys wives and girlfriends, misleads fanbase over moving to the LS but protrays himself as virtuous by saying he likes to be loyal to managers and will not, out of principle, buy a manager out of a contract for relative small change compared to his transfer disasters and poir management appointments down the years.  

Poor Sully, there should be an intervention by his family to save him from more self harm.

Like I thought, his refusal to admit he’s fvcked up yet again meand this poor Loppy fella will continue to sink us until the New Year.  Very depressing

Lopetegui's got the mien of someone who's stumbled into work after a night on the plonk to cope with having just been taken to the cleaners in a messy divorce. He looks/sounds cooked and I doubt he's got the personality to challenge that (who would at his age, apart from Mourinho?)

His father is apparently very ill so I wonder if the weight of personal stresses combining with the professional are too much to bear? Could be why he's seemed so distracted and perplexed for his time here. We might be doing him a kindness letting him go, possibly even offering a face-saving mutual agreement that he steps down to spend more time with sick relatives?

FWIW, I thought Moyes' time had come and we were right to move on. Lopetegui wasn't my first choice though I had reserved optimism he might gradually improve on areas most of us had identified we were struggling in. I was prepared to be underwhelmed but even I'm surprised at how pear-shaped it's going.

So what, he is a 58 year old bloke who CHOSE to take a highly pressured, public job in elite top flight management in the most watched, and highest profile league in the world. Don't take the job if you're not mentally up to it. It's not like he's getting paid MILLIONS to get results or anything.

I agree with that though I wasn't offering excuses on Lop's behalf, just idly wondering how a a coach of his experience seems to have gotten it so wrong, especially when he was working in this exact league not especially long ago.

It was the perfect time for us to do a Liverpool and announce he was leaving at the end of the season which would have given us ample time for us to find someone.  Mind you, that person would still have been Lopetegui as him and Salthouse has already began to butter Sullivan up by then.

It is obvious that getting rid of Moyes was a mistake. So quick to demonize the man that brought us the only success in 50 years you fucking bunch of thick cunts.

 

Our Premier League form under Moyes was fucking embarrassing and we were on a massive decline without European football to distract us.

So the mistake was not sacking Moyes.  It was who we replaced him with and that was always going to be the issue.

As I said Moyes was offered as he put it "not a good contract" in January. When it was obvious he wouldn't sign Sully should have outted him then. We were nicely placed in the league with zero chance of relegation and could have taken our time to get a new candidate. I think Tuchel was available.  Instead a terrible run of results we just plumeted like a rock. More Sully indecision.

My guess would be to annouce his departure, for Steidten to grandstand the next steps (he does like the limelight afterall) and to potentially announce the timetable for a new man (and maybe outline who will take charge until the Wolves game).

Just reporting what is being reported by Ex who we know doe shave contacts throughout the club so carries more weight than, say, TBR Football or Goal.
