Re: Football's nutters?
Charlie Oatway who went under the radar to some extent was from good west london stock and could more than hold his hands up both on and off the pitch.
He was also named after the entire QPR first team but nonetheless went on to have a half decent career.

I’ve heard that before, and that he used to sleep with his gloves on and a ball with him in the bed. Classic warm up routine too.

Re: Football's nutters?
Remember the goalie for Rangers, Andy Goram? Supposedly he had a mild form of Schizophrenia, and of course their fans were singing, "There's only two Andy Gorams".

I was about 21 and he was in his early 40's. He had already been Manager at Torquay. Nothing naughty from him that day!

They turned up trying to do their usual bullying and crazy gang bollocks, Dicksy wasn't having any of it and tries to break Wise's legs and gets sent off. That sparks the team, Alvin has a straight up with Eric Young and we go on to win![]()
Stretch could handle himself for sure.
he had to deal with some serious lumps in his time.
It helps when you have Billy Bonds alongside you of course.
Stretch was captain supreme at Wall ..he was having none of their nonsense

I think his greatest moment though was slaying the bullies of Wimbledon with a stunning volley in that infamous league cup tie in the late eighties.
Yes mate...that and his one man army effort against the mackems in the league cup .
Both of em would last 10 mins at most nowadays..and that's being optimistic.

If you're old enough, you know the type I'm on about.
Wedge haircut , Pringle and Farah and constantly preening , very deceiving look for your average lunatic.
He became a hairdresser

Yea I remember that well
'bully' didn't fancy it did he .
Julien is one of those lads that are pretty quiet and no bother , but have a 'switch' and when that switch is pressed chaos ensued.
He represented the fans on the pitch ..
Legend for me ...the KUMBstains think he was a liability ...but they would.

I liked him a lot - Bishop - a sublime player and hard as nails. Appearances can be deceptive . .
Maybe the story grew legs over the years but I believe he was banned for driving the wrong way around Trafalgar square one Christmas after a TV charity event. Yep Julian had the reputation but Bishop was the proper nutter I think. Loved him.
