4 Undefeated now, but fuck me we ride our luck, not so sure we will get 5 though, the Scouse up next and that usually means only one thing?

Any hope of Lopi being replaced has gone for this season i expect, this fortunate run will see him stay the season i reckon, would love to think it was because he has got us playing better but let's be honest, its been poor opposition who couldn't finish rather than us dominating or taking control of games.

Yes we do at times, sometimes like today we get away with it. When the luck isn't in or against sides who don't tend to fluff chances, like Arsenal, we get spanked. Liverpool and City in the next two, approach those like we did today and those games will be formalities and possibly amounting to some statistically significant score lines.  Still, we're getting by just fine and Sullivan wont be phased unless we look like we're in real trouble, which we're not.

Lotepegui is trying to build the side around Soucek - this is the best it’s going to get and at this rate, it’s about to get a lot worse.

At least under Moyes, yes he was incredibly dull and we conceded a hatfull but you knew that was his style and set up.  With Lop I really don't know what he is trying to do.  Under Moyes too few subs now it seems subs just for the sake of it.  Soler certainly wasn't having his best game but to take him off and replace him with Alvarez and go with three DM's was rather strange, unless he is just trying not to get beat.  To do that though you have to defend and we were fortunate they didn't have a lump who could score up top considering the amount of crosses that came in, certainly first half.

I really don't see why he doesn't give Kudus a go either as a striker of as a number 10.  At least that would gove him a look at Kudus, Bowen and Summerville in something like the right positions.  Kudus can't play left and Bowen isn't as effective up top so why not try it?  As someone said below I'd rather get money for Kudus that sticking him on the left all the time.

It's three points though but we are going to have to defend a hell of a lot better if we are going to keep Liverpool out.

No, those need to grow up when they keep saying it's down to luck when we pick up points and deserved when we don't. Happened all season long...

Personally, I'm pleased we won but gutted that Lop is going to keep his job.  The way we play is horrible to watch.

That's such an awkward thing to assume.
It must be allowed to say that we played shit and even didn't deserve 3 points, without being accused for being sorry we won. Grow up!

Merely putting it in to context. Losing 2 key players during the 1st half with many changes in the end to win away is good management.

No, it's good fortune

Yep, fluked it, like all the other results.

Yep. Glad you concur

*not all though, I'd say just Palace away, Brentford away, Fulham away, Man utd at home and possibly Wolves at home, btw all with the fewest minutes lost to injury in the division. Let's hope the luck continues when the injury table inevitably levels itself out in the second half of the season

Although this was a shit performance, the result made it a good Boxing day for me, combined with Spurs and Chelsea losing.

Yeah mate. According to the media. We should be grateful for our position. And we all know Spurs are punching above their weight.!
You can make 5 substitutions using 3 stoppages. Half time isn’t using a stoppage. Concussion concerns don’t count.

Funny old game this. I was more pissed off at the game than last weeks draw. But a lot of fans were far more annoyed about last week. that’s strange to me. Just goes to show a lot of people look at the result then decide how to interpret what they saw.

When if you just look at what happens on the pitch we were crap today considering we were up against a very poor team who haven’t scored in 7hrs or something?

Everytime I think we’re stablizing we kind of go backwards. Like slowly , but noticeably backwards. I think he tinkers way too much. I understand rotation but it’s like Loppy really only plays half a match. The first half is some runaround that is meaningless because he ends up with the proper team in the second half who do what’s needed. Why?

kudus was the worst I’ve ever seen him play. He I’d rather sell him than play him on the left. What is the point ? What does he do there? Summerville should be 1st choice left winger end of discussion. And that’s sort of the problem, we know the best team now. Why are you chopping and changing things? We need to stabilise. We can’t do that when you keep tinkering for no real reason.

so now I think we’ve learnt nothing again about how the team plays or should play.
we had no midfield presence because he had 3 cdms on as well. Against a bottom team?
I just can’t work it out. But I respect the 3 points because the 7 nil bollocking we are going to get off Liverpool the way we are playing… I’m trying prepare for that one…

Only the 'obtuse post if the week' award

I suspect their genius may well get the boot soon as they are currently heading towards their first bottom half finish in 17 years, whereas you think we should be happy to only be below them on the basis of a goal difference that's worse than theirs by 20  goals?

The media (i.e sponsors advertising teams) see a potential and a global history (more brand reach) in Spurs that they don't see in us.

Massive Attack" wrote: 26 Dec 2024, 17:19 Happy with the win and clean sheet in the end considering the fire fighting we had to do with our players dropping like flies in the 1st half after a bright start. Once Fabianski went off along with Kilman our rhythm was understandably fucked but we still got the win avoiding the 'managerial bounce'.

Undefeated in 4 now, not conceding many like we once were, 6 points off 6th and no relegation dogfight in sight.

Pleased with three points but shithousing our way to a win against the club sitting rank bottom on 5 points doesn’t inspire me in the way it obviously does you

I'm glad we won . But fuck me.  I've never seen a west ham side so bad on the eyes . It's making curbishley allardyce and Moyes look attacking. And it's all down to how he employs  the attackers .
