Knowing our fucking luck the disgusting slug manages to see past 100 before ponying up to be cryogenically frozen and haunt the Club for the next 1000 years with occasional awakenings from his deep sleep. Thankfully I'll be long gone by then but I fear the poor Club will forever be haunted by the devil incarnate.

Apologies Massive. I just felt the need to set expectations lower than they already were. Realism is often very depressing 🥴

I have alerted the Samaritans to expect calls from West Ham fans who might dwell on the thought of Sullivan living into his 90s which would make it 15 years more.

But seeing as he was right about Duran... Hopefully the rest has some substance, and yes it's the hope that kills.
Would be such a Sullivan move to go back in for Neymar after all these years after a bad injury and announce we are about to sign him on a 4 year deal for millions. 🤣

Villa instantly rejected it anyway. If £57M plus add ons isn't going to be enough to prize him away from Villa now as a back-up Striker, then I'd seriously think about turning our attentions to Liam Delap and still have change left over. They too may not accept a bid for him preferring to avoid the drop but we should at least ask the question and we could always go back in for him in the Summer.

After having a look around on some forums literally nobody believes the sincerity of the Duran bid. A big majority of people are starting to see past the razzle dazzle and lies.

Or we could just keep signing tge likes of Ings and Füllkrug... Summer we should have done it...

It fucked our season in not doing so. So what does the Club do instead, spend big on slow as arseholes injury prone Fullkrug! 🤣

Durans goals and being a general nightmare for opposition Defenders up top with his lightning pace would have made a real difference. And that's regardless of whoever was our manager, even if we still had ultra defensive Moyes in charge. Instead we've had to put up with playing injury ridden old biddies in Fullkrug 31, Ings 32, Antonio 34 all with over 10 years on him.

We tried…

Good point that we could get a couple of decent players with £57m. Truth is, Sullivan has no intention of spending that kind of money this window. If Villa did say yes, which they never would, he’d find a way to reverse out of the deal at 100mph

It does seems to focus on THE player, rather than that type of player.
Too right. We should be looking at identifying the next Duran or player of that type. Not the current one somewhat after the horse has bolted and it'll already cost a fortune.

He's an excellent player, ironically one they bought with the £15 million we paid them for Ings.

Knows where the net is, has explosive pace and power in his shots. Still only just 21 a massive ceiling.

Unfortunately he won't be coming to us. Yea it's a big fee but it would probably be paid over the course of his contract, even at £12 million a season it's good business. We'd probably sell in 2-3 seasons for a profit...

Or we could just keep signing tge likes of Ings and Füllkrug... Summer we should have done it...

For £40m we could have David & Gomes

Madness.
That’s where I am with it. As much as I want him to come, if we’ve got £60m to spend we could get 3 players that would improve our first 11 and then add in a couple of loans and we would look a hell of a lot better. All we’ve done is show our hand to everyone.

That div jinxed reckons the deal is not dead and more talks tomorrow and the player wants to come.
