Fwiw, I fancy we will end up with a forward on loan and that will be OK.

Could be wrong but it feels like we've been using the Brobbey as a way to encourage other deals along. Never felt like we were all that serious in him. Ferguson is the one to preserve with. Hopefully it gets done.
What is your take on his injury history Massive. You had strong views on Fullkrug despite 3 seasons of reasonably clear injury history.

Ferguson looks the opposite....consistently the same issue which has been present and notable in all recent seasons.

What makes you think he's less of an injury issue than Fullkrug?

That's why I'd be happy with a loan first of all to see how he would get on. If it's a persistent issue should he arrive, then that's the only real issue I've got with him and Brighton can have him back.

Interesting. Who was the last striker that we bought that came in and ‘hit the ground running’? Kanoute? Ashton?
Sakho was immense first 10 games
Good shout. Didn’t he break some record for scoring in consecutive games?

Demba Ba.
Forgot about him. Easily done considering how short his stay was with us.

The Boro lad Latte Lath must be the best bet now no?

Jean-Luc Paul Goddard" wrote: 28 Jan 2025, 07:44 Apart from his worrying injury history you have to ask why he only started one or two league games in the 3 months he was fit to play this season. Is it because he never fully recovered his form after his previous ankle injury or is it that he's just not as good as Joao Pedro or Danny Wellbeck? Either way it doesn't sound like a great move for us, when we need a striker firing on all cylinders right away, unless there is literally no money to spend and no other option.
Thought he looked a bit lumbering when he came on against us.

IF reports online are true it looks like both Arsenal and Spurs are interested in Ferguson too.

Evan Ferguson...all depends on his ankle. Reoccurring ankle injuries over 3 seasons now, including 150 days injured last season and a month out this season.

Big lad that's gonna be heavy on his ankles. Sounds like a classic West Ham signing.

The noises seem to be pointing to Ferguson. I thought he had it all when he burst onto the scene so wouldn’t be unhappy with that.

Would be a bit annoyed if it didn’t have an option. Not sure how we could have sunk to being a club that develops Brighton’s young players.

Bowen and Antonio will be like signing new players, fear not!

Any news on Ferguson. Think Potter would give us an edge on getting him in if we actually wanted him.

Could be right but I’ve got a feeling that the only striker we’ve ever actually been interested in in this window, is Evan Ferguson on loan from Brighton. The rest, bullshit.
