I am a big hammer from Norway, been to the new stadium a couple of times. Haven't been to Boleyn, (only watched every documentary about it) but just can't help the bitterness of missing the ground and the old West Ham feeling.
What do you guys actually think of the stadium and the atmosphere.
Do you guys think we will move away from London Stadium anytime soon? and actually get our own stadium.
Anyways good game yesterday, we really looked like an football team today, give him 10 years!

No that it matters, but non league grounds have by far the better food stalls.

If I had to do a top 10 of places to eat at stadiums, I reckon they'd all be non league.

I’ve never had to experience to stop and go lollipop men. I’ve always left via Fish Island and walked to the Lighthouse pub for a pint after the game, or walked to the Coborn.

Yeah. My family live locally, so if I’m not heading back to Euston to get back to Liverpool I go in there. 

 

 

I love that pub, about 15 years ago I was in there all the time. Used to have some right characters in there.

The new stadium and 60k fans in it looks amazing. It’s nowhere near as bad as people say in my opinion. Upton Park was better but only when it wasn’t all seater. 

 

 

I have mixed views about it. I was at Villa Park for the first time the other week (cup game). I was envious of their Holte End. The exterior is very atmospheric with those huge steps and the midland redbrick aesthetic. The smell of burger stalls on the approach roads etc. Compare that to our soulless walk through a shopping centre, stewarded by people fresh off of boats who don't speak a word of English and have no plans to. It couldn't be more different.

Having said that, the problems we attribute to our stadium, quiet fans that now only sing when we are winning and difficulty getting a beer etc. Villa Park was no different. Awful experience at half time and the queues to get in making us miss the kick off. 

There's not much hope to bring back the soul of the club as cockney culture has been erased from East End of London and what is left is fossilised in the Essex diaspora. The tourists will eventually suffocate what's left. Just enjoy what we still have while it lasts.

They need to fill in the massive gaps with seats and remove the wall that separates the away and home fans.

I attended my first game at the bowel last month versus Brighton and have to say it was better than I expected. That said, I did have a good seat in the west lower about half way up, which obviously helped, had I been up in the gods I may have felt different (and colder) no doubt. The atmosphere I found to be alright, OK not much singing, but the stadium had a decent vibe about it and I can imagine in a real big game it could be on fire in there.

As for the outside, felt a bit like being at Wembley with the walk around the stadium, but overall thought it was alright. Plenty of places to eat and drink and noted the club shop was packed with a long line waiting to go in. As for the walk outside, I went in and out via Bow Road, found it a pleasant 15 min or so stroll and if I were ever to be a regular again that would likely be my route. Seems easy enough to avoid Stratford, stop go cunts, but maybe not for some.

One of the few times I've been to the new stadium (Chelsea LG Cup) it was a great atmosphere, but I was still sat about half a mile away from the pitch. The walk to the ground (at the time you couldn't go through the shopping part) was depressing, and the walk back to the station worse with the stop/go cunts holding you up. We only moved there to make a certain midget richer, and no doubt we'll be moved again once they get hold of the land

It completely down to the fans if the atmosphere is good or not.  The way the stadium is built (not ours) can assist, but it has to be the supporters that create it.

All true, but only get going for special occasions. Chelsea in the League Cup, first London derby at the bowl often gets overlooked.

Had some absolutely shockers in there where the stadium is flat as anything and then had some proper decent days and nights.

2nd leg vs Seville you would not say that night that the stadium was shit.  It was rocking.

2nd leg against Leverkusen, was absolutely banging.

Its a crying shame that with all these modern stadiums being planned and built, like Everton's for example which looks amazing, and we are stuck with this shit bowl.

I kind of agree, the seating even gets closeish now. Although you are a long way from the pitch, the sight lines are top. I go to the Camp Nou and other bid stadium a fair bit and the views when your in the middle are similar. Atmosphere can be poor, but I think thats more to do with modern crowds and changing support than the stadium.
BUT, the surroundings are awful. Fucking plastic shopping centre. Decent pubs miles from the ground. Only crap plastic franchise pubs and restaurants. Can't leave as you want. Shortest route through Westfield closed. Frigging stop go, just awful, despressing, which matches the football or on a good day takes all the joy away.
