Was reading that this Tyler Morton of Liverpool is 6ft 1 & as said has had a couple of full seasons at Championship level
More than 40 games at Blackburn & then the same at Hull last season
Effectively a Championship player a bit like Wharton who Palace picked up last season

That’s exactly what I wouldn’t do. Take a player that on loan to build up for another club and then they take him back. I would want a loan with an agreed option which is exactly what it seems we are trying to do.
Got no objection to an option. It's an obligation that would be a problem.

Looks like Morton has spent the last two seasons in the championship getting regular football.

22 years old, looks like a #6. Sounds promising to me.

I reckon it was a Sullivan “gift” player for Potter for this Pepi geezer?  It would be “the wrong player” that Potter alludes to?

Agree with the recent sentiments / doubts about signing Ferguson BUT isn't that what the fucking Medical Team are there to assess.  If the wasters responsible for Carroll and Füllcrock are still there the fucking give up and don't sign anyone!  FFS!

"Signing a player is easy, believe you me, in this January window. Anyone could sign a player. It's easy. There's so many agents you can imagine pushing players left right and center.

"So signing the players, no problem. But to get the right one for the right price and fits how you want to play, that fits into the group, that's the difficult thing. And I think as a club we have to be mindful of that."
Sounds to me like that might have been aimed at Sullivan. It sure as fuck is something that he needs to be mindful of or else we'll get another Ings on our hands.

Potter: I want to sign right player to fit West Ham

With Niclas Fullkrug still out with a long-term hamstring injury, West Ham have been actively trying to sign a striker in January.

But with the deadline just a few days away and the chances of signing Evan Ferguson from Graham Potter's old club Brighton receding, the Hammers boss is leaning towards making do with what he has for the rest of the season.

"If anything it's me trying to find the right player," the manager said. "You know, I want to make the right decision for this football club. I want to get the right player for this team.

"Signing a player is easy, believe you me, in this January window. Anyone could sign a player. It's easy. There's so many agents you can imagine pushing players left right and center.

Quotes from the Brighton boss about Ferguson “My job is really to focus on the work with the player outside on the pitch and that’s what we do, he trained well yesterday, he came through the session without any pain, the other things we can’t influence,” Hurzeler said on Sky Sports News when it was put to him that Brighton are going to let Ferguson leave on loan or permanently before Monday’s deadline. “He knows my thoughts, the thoughts from the club, we know the thoughts from Evan. That I think is the most important and then we see what happens. “It’s a good question (would he be OK with Ferguson leaving). I want to keep working with him but like I always said, it’s important to discuss with him what is important for the individual development of the player. Because that’s the main thing for the club, we want to improve the development of the player. “We want to help him therefore we need an exchange, then we see what makes sense for the player in the next six months and then the club and then we will make a decision together. “I felt in the conversations with Evan he only wants to play, that’s his main thing, and no matter if it’s here or for another club.” What will worry West Ham most, though, is the Brighton manager’s reasoning on why Ferguson is in this position. Because he simply hasn’t been able to stay injury-free for a long time. ‘Ferguson needs to go and play’ Hurzeler admits He added: “I think it’s difficult if you have always small issues and you can’t get in your rhythm. And I think we need to get him being stable on the pitch, being consistently on the pitch. “Then therefore we try to help him to get in the right shape, to be more resilient. He doesn’t forget how to score goals, he’s still a big danger for every team (he faces) he does it in every session that he has. “He has an unbelievable skill and it’s our responsibility to help him get this shape back where he once was and I’m sure that he will be back. But the most important thing is that he gets in his rhythm and that his body is more resilient.” Hurzeler says Ferguson is a brilliant character. But he added that it is now important for Ferguson to play week in, week out to get his fitness and confidence back.

Dont look good having that injury record at such a young age. Brighton are happy to move him on for a reason.

In a vacuum, it's fine and well to say the season is lost already, relegation is unlikely, and to wait for summer for cheaper prices. I also feel fairly confident that is what Sullivan will do anyway, but I think it's a bad idea. Paqueta (assuming he's not serving a ban), Kudus, and Bowen will all be in demand from clubs above us. Sullivan has very publicly thrown Steidten and Lopetegui under the bus saying everything was a disaster and their fault. The transfer window is the first opportunity to try to right the ship, and to do nothing in that situation sends the signal you are fine with everything being a disaster. As a player, I'm looking to jump ship the first opportunity I get unless I can't in which case are those players we want. As a manger, ditto. As a fan, it's another slap in the face in a LONG list of them. Further, last summer was the first that I can remember under Sullivan where we actually got deals done that were not the last week of the window and put that largely down to Steidten. Now that he's gone, I have little faith we won't return to form as we seem to already have done this window.

Any deal for Ferguson should be a loan to begin with, he's out of form and questions over his fitness etc.

Bet poor old Sullivan is walking round with the right hump. If only he had gone the few million more to sign Duran in the summer he could be sitting on a nice £30m profit after 6 months. Penny wise pound foolish has never seemed so apt with the little dwarf.

As mentioned, serious red flags over Ferguson’s fitness? Weak ankles like knees can be a congenital thing and never really resolved? But lets hope we don’t use the same quacks that oversaw Andy Carroll and other crock signings 🥴 definitelly sounds like we should go for a loan but no obligation or dependent on no reoccurance of injuries etc?

Ferguson is a massive talent no doubt, but both ankles recently injured one requiring surgery is a massive red flag.

Would be all in for Ferguson, but seems a bit complex with loan/buy/option/obligation/fee etc. As for his injuries it has to be a concern, but it's not like he's 25 and has had a load of injuries, hopefully he's just had a bit of bad luck early doors. Could become  a cult hero like Carroll should have been.

"There is confidence [at West Ham] that a deal for Ferguson can be struck. A loan with an option to buy has been discussed but sources believe a bid of about £40m could be enough for a sale." https://www.theguardian.com/footbal...brighton-ricardo-pepi-bid-psv-transfer-latest

£40m is a gamble but I think I would still be happy with it, given his age and is quite clearly the one potter wants. A couple of deadline day loans and that will be alright until the summer. In steps big DS!
