Kash Patel just sworn in as head of the FBI.
Gonna be interesting what he unearths.
The JFK files and MLK and Epstein client list are about to be released by Bondi Attorney General.
Love all the transparency what a concept!

But let's be honest that's basically 40 minutes of Rubio doing damage control? LOL
I supported Trump in his stance on getting rid of all the woke nonsense, but some of his other stuff especially the last few days on Ukraine is pretty whacky and fucked up
Got 4 years of this circus...............
In some ways, for sure on the damage control.
The part that was most interesting to me (other than the Canadian bits which is very niche, obviously) is why lots of the American side are frusterated with Zelenskyy.
But yes Trump is saying stupid stuff about the situation.

If you are honestly interested in the States side of everything without the bluster and exaggerations of Trump himself, this is actually a very informative interview.

Jaan,
Lets hope so.
I see Apple has ended its end to end encryption service after pressure from the UK Gov’t. So this only applies to the U K.
This allows a back door for the Gov’t to gain access to everyone’s phone.
All the data, Pics, everything!
Sounds like a big Nazi move to me. You better hope Trump puts Starmer in his place this upcoming week.
What the fuck is going on over there?

Re: The Official Politics Thread (enter at your own risk)
Looks like US funding of Ukraine is finished, and a peace deal is almost agreed where by Russia gets the annexed land. Ukraine has to forget NATO but can join the EU. European nations offer security guarantees. The US get 50% of Ukraine’s mineral wealth. Zelensky steps down and they hold an election.
AFD’s alleged announcement of an EU referendum if they win their election, could completely destroy any Ukraine positives. In fact Dexit could be the end of the EU altogether.

Putin is clearly a war criminal,a despot on the same level as Hitler and Stalin
Trump is a moron if he thinks Putin with stop at the Ukraine,he needs to rebuild his smashed up armed forces and will probably attack Ukraine again or Moldova,Georgia,Armenia in a few years time
No way will he take on NATO with or without USA
What makes them conspiracy theories? You left out Starmer, why?

The Trump gang and GOP at their yearly CPAC conference are as already planning to install Trump as President in 2028.Apparently, they are planning on pushing the 'Third term project' despite the limit of two terms in the Constitution –
No problems i say.
If the Orange man can run, then surely Obama could as well? The Dems may well clean up if that comes to pass????

Re: The Official Politics Thread (enter at your own risk)
I don’t think anybody wants to see an end to NATO but it’s survival as an effective fighting force requires all the members to step up and fund it. Something the other members have been reluctant to do for years.
All too easy to blame Trump for what the other ponce nations of NATO won’t do, which is pay a fair share.
According to Zelensky Ukraine did not receive a lot of the money sent by Biden’s administration, which im sure will expose even more corruption. Ukraine is a cesspit of Corruption. Zelensky’s days are numbered.
As for Canada, Trudeau is a major cսnt! What he did to the Truck drivers in Canada was beyond cunty. He’s a far left loon that needs winding in and Mexico have proven themselves to be bad actors with how they completely failed the US with the US border and fentanyl crisis coming across the Southern US border. It’s about time they did what’s right.
To be completely fair the biggest idiots of them all are the Gov’ts in Europe with the giant Beaurocracy which is the European Union, It is the EU that is the problem. One example is Charging the US Tarrifs while the US tax payers practically fund NATO.
Change is long overdue. Let’s see what a NATO force ends up looking like now. The problem here is not Trump.
I’ve got a funny feeling that the EU Gov’ts stance on backing Ukraine no matter what will change when they have to start coughing up the extra money.
Pretty fucking easy to preach about Trump while hiding in the shadows of your responsibilities.
The War is over and You can expect to see an end of any further NATO expansion.
Its kind of a win you got Finland out of it.

If you somehow think its shrewd to do your diplomacy via stupid statements on twitter rather than behind doors negotiating then fine but don't make out it's all actually just a genius move from a great statesman.
Putin must be pissing himself, Trump has done more to destabilise the west and NATO after a month in office than the USSR achieved in the entire Cold War
I don't think anyone whose not all in with him thinks he's a great statesman. I don't.
But he is speaking the language of his people and, again, if we look what he can and actually is doing, not saying off the cuff, the picture is a lot different.
He is picking on Canada (and I know you don't care about our politics) because we don't have a functioning government, including a lame duck Prime Minister, and Trudeau has been an idiot in regards to him (if we want to talked about lack of statesmanship) in the past. The last part isn't great but I think the first part is - without red and white specs on - objectively very effective. Again, I know you don't care but I am way more upset about the internal politics and economics that has left us this vulnerable, economically. There certainly is blood in the water. And not primarly for the States.
I have to disagree with the last bit, just being a late Cold War kid and studying the history in the first parts of my schooling. But there you go.
If the last few years and Ukraine has told us anything, Russia is not a threat in a conventional war sense. To me, the threats are 1) nuclear - probably less the less we push and ally against Putin - in my opinion - and 2) cyber etc. But that second one, Russia is so much cruder and smaller and bumbling than China.
Whether it is good for Europe or not, unfortunately, but the biggest threats to the US aren't countered as much by NATO any more.

(The tariffs were happening no matter what - until he got a huge political concession and a win with the base - Mexico and Canada agreeing with him that there were problems at the border.)

Bring on the mid-terms.
Hopefully some of the red crew in the senate grow a spine in the meantime.I disagree with a lot of the things he says, often do.
But from an American perspective, he is doing what he told voters he would - get out of wars and save money.
Ukraine is going to change nothing at midterms, probably not either way, but certainly not negatively.
There is a percentage that this really offends, maybe rightly, but they didn't vote for him and he won the popular vote.
Overly wordy critiiques are great to get the frustrations out but say you are him, how to do fix Ukraine and maintain voter base for the party. A solution, please, since I would assume you consider yourself an adult (pretend you are in the room.)

Re: The Official Politics Thread (enter at your own risk)
Ukraine held peace talks a few times without inviting Russia. They will inevitably have to meet to find a possible agreement at some point. Much like they did in the early months, but the West said don't trust Putin, he wants to invade all of Europe, you're fighting for not just your democracy but ours. Which is crazy considering Zelensky was elected on a promise to bring peace to the Donbass.
The alternative to establishing peace talks is continuing the war possibly without US funding .Even with continued US funding it doesn't seem remotely likely that Ukraine could ever push Russia out. Seeing as Zelensky is claiming most of the money never reached them, it's looking like mass corruption is the only winner, and reason to continue.

Zelensky is done, nothing but a liability to his handlers now and the powder is running his mouth. He'll flee the country or end up like Howard Beale soon enough.
