East, see your film knowledge is decent.
Both films are outstanding. Apparently the scene in the street where Hoffman shouts at cab drivers was all ad libbed. Only 18 certificate to win an Oscar for Best Picture I believe. You don't see films like that anymore. Watched The French Connection again last week and it's brilliantly gritty. Must confess I love Midnight Run as well. Charles Grodin was exceptional.
