He had a 50% win ratio at Milan. 12 of 24 games. 44 goals scored. His replacement has done no better and already lost more games. He didn't flop, Milan just aren't very good.

Comparing Fonsca to Flopetegui is just ignorant and moronic.

When you have, who would you get in?

I would have got Fonseca when he was out of work on the last 2 occassions we changed manager.

Now? Well we're fucked because this gormless disater has completely tanked us.

Carrick's probably the level he's left us at and I doubt he'd take the job now.

So the fucking Cowley Brothes, they sound like a circus so why fucking not?

The substitutions and reverting to three centre halfs was all on Potter today. Even a 1-0 win wouldn’t have been great, but scraping a draw against an already relegated team on record low points is disgraceful.

Potter might be shit, but these players has mainly been shit the past couple of years.

The biggest problem isnt Potter, its Sullivan and the squad management by the former managers.

Maybe so, but at least get the three points today. Not many would have handed the impetus to the oppositions with subs like that. It's not just the squad he has, there's an attitude and a motivational issue. How many games have we started cold and only shown any drive and determination after HT. PLayers like Kudus look lost at times, Paqueta can be effective but far to little.  This is on Potter.

Our reality is he will be going nowhere and will be given the summer to improve the squad, but on todays showing that is a monumental ask.

The problem today was going defensive for the last 15 mins against one of the worst teams in PL history.

Absolutely no excuse for it, and he can’t hide behind Sullivan on that one.

I’m still Potter in but he needs to do a lot of work on this team.

We are so slow, we can’t play the football he wants because we don’t have the players to do it.

Its time to give Orford some game time.

Sullivan is without doubt the overwhelming issue at this club
but nothing can be done about that
Potter is a different matter though
the combination of this chairman and this manager is disastrous

I have to admit, that was fucking appalling again.

Yet again, we were shit in the first half. We get away with it, and take the lead. Then he gives the momentum back to them. A team that before today had 10 points from 32 games, and a minus 54 goal difference.

I still would like him to be given a full season, but fuck me this is so uninspiring.

I've tried to have some faith but the end to this game has now shattered that. He's clueless making subs like that and trying to hang on against the bottom side. I'm just a bit baffled.

We all know that Sullivan is the real cսnt at this club for the wonky managerial appointments and signing debacles, until he goes we will continue to be a club in perpetual crisis

This season or whats left of it?  I just dont see things improving much more.  You can see we are trying ( albeit mostly unsuccessfully in terms of results ) to control the possession. I mean we got 60% in the Liverpool game but we are not turning it into enough good chances and when we do get a few we invariably dont finish many of them if any.  My opinion remains that the central midfield squad is so imbalanced that its almost impossible to pick 3 to compete with most any team in the Premier League and coupled with having no centre forward has left us toothless. Shocking squad management and recruitment before and since Rice left

That's rather pessimistic even for you, Alf. I think the glass half full footnote to this is that we have, despite results seen a noticeable uptick in the (second half) performances in recent games. We could have won at Liverpool on another day and we probably could have beaten both Wolves and Bournemouth. There are signs we are moving away from that Moyes low block style to something easier on the eye but you are right it is painfully obvious where we are lacking,

We need a very solid window, and if its going to be limited this year because of the amount pissed up the wall last year, then they all need to be hits and no duds. They need to be on this NOW and not waiting for panic stations in July and August.

that’s funny cos the last comments you made were that you believed the story that Fullkrug can’t play more than 45 mins and that’s why he hasn’t been starting
Nope. I said I thought he’d start this as he didn’t last week. I never did he’d play the full game. I expect him off at HT or maximum 60 mins.

I might be remembering it wrong with Lop then, but I felt he was a healthy scratch a lot more than perhaps he was. I don't see a great deal to grumble about with Potter's management of his return from injury though and it's not purely about minutes, it's also about how the game is going at that point. Yes I'd have liked to have seen him play more against Liverpool and that was probably the plan but we were on top so you could argue for not disrupting what was working at that time. He was never starting that one over starting this weekend though. As I just said I'll be shocked if he's not starting on Saturday.

Don't be daft. Why would playing for 30-40 minutes rather than 12 minutes stop him from starting a match 6 days later? If anything it would have helped him last longer and play better in the next game, as well as maybe giving us a chance to get something out of the Liverpool game.

All that stuff about caution and managing his minutes very closely could have just as easily been applied to Lopetegui, but in his case you made up that it was about spite.
