Re: Potter Out
I detest the midget, but I'm not sure he's instructing Potter to stick eight men behind the ball every game. People's memory seems to be fucked, in his opening interviews he said he understood the 'west ham way', that the 'fans wants better football'. Four months later, he's delivered the complete fucking opposite. Grin all he wants, and think he's talking to children when addressing the press but if he continues with this negative tiresome shit, he'll do well making it to christmas
Re: Potter Out
This time next year, expect to see threads with latest manager name “xxxxxx OUT!!”
We are in a perpetual loop under Sullivan. ( thecokd “Groundhog day reference”. No strategy, plan evidenced by being the only top flight club in football worldwide to not see the benefits of and implement the DOF based management model.
“We’re on the road to nowhere” and the only hope we have is another unintended consequence or accident which Moyes second spell turned into, aided by COVID but always destined, due to the aforementioned reasons, to be short lived which it was.
Need a source of hope? Keep yourself healthy and well and outlive Sullivan. Realistically his death is the real chance we have to get out if this endless loop if underachievement. Sounds harsh but someone please explain or articulate a counter argument please just to give me some hope

Re: Potter Out
Whatever anyone says about us not being a club like Sheffield Wednesday, Leeds or Portsmouth, the reality is that WHU is massively supported and deserves to be constantly battling for Euro positions.
Unfortunately, Sullivan & Brady appear to be more interested in PL survival and getting cheap deals on players. It started up again as soon as Steidten left when the repeated quotes to journalists are always that WHU is skint and needs to sell to buy...

Re: Potter Out
Maybe not a popular view but about the only good thing that came out of the Gold/Sullivan takeover was the club not becoming the next Sheffield Wednesday, Leeds or Portsmouth, for all the faults they stabilised the club and even with a relegation did enough to get us back up, the alternative at the time was Tony Fernandez who then went on to buy and mismanage QPR so badly they are still a bit of a basket case even though he's gone, biggest shame is we just can't stay consistent or maintain a step up to being top 8 on a regular basis, it's almost as if mediocre without relegation is acceptable to the board and owners, just leaves us fans feeling pissed off and what ifs, the highlight of that Cup win was only really achieved as the comp is so low level it was a gift we couldn't pass up, how Spurs and Villa fucked it up is mind boggling and just look how easy Chelsea are doing it with their kids!!!!.
As to Potter, haven't watched the pre match thing, nor do i intend to, seems very little to be positive about in these last few games, but not surprised and expect would agree with comments made here
, was pleased with his appointment but regretting it now, seems out of his depth, but what the fuck do i know???

It's long not been the club I supported with passion as a younger self.
Given the number of times it's happened, it has to be a deliberate club policy; not even the longest possible probability odds will give you that number of coincidences in such a relatively short space of time: different owners, different managers, same old fuck ups.
I've always been a little surprised we never become another Leeds, Sheff Wed, Forest, Derby etc. There's always been a belief (at least by some) that it could have happened had these owners not come in after the biscuit bloke, but who knows. With the stadium and the surrounding area I doubt it will ever happen now.

Agree with all of that, was a fucking disaster. Some say these pressers are all the same, don't agree. What's what all the silly grinning? Imagine someone like Mourinho doing that in the midst of this shitness.

I wasn't determined at all. Just logical. Your bloke was a cսnt. This bloke appears to be a cսnt. It isn't mutually exclusive

Everything about this bloke suggests to me the combination of him and Sullivan is gonna be what finally destroys this club, I firmly believe he’ll take us down
Now that’s just my opinion but it’s what I believe, so I wouldn’t be much of a fan if I didn’t speak out about it, and at the same time I get that people don’t agree with that
no one can be sure what’s going to happen but the difference is, believing in Potter is just blind faith, he has no historic premier league stats to suggest he’s a top class coach, in fact all they do is prove he’s always had trouble scoring goals, which when you take into account he’s likely to sell our attacking players in order to bring in any money for transfers, it means this transfer window has to be spot on otherwise it’s going to be disastrous, and who’s back in charge of transfers?

Turned it off when he said there’s been improvements since he’s been in charge albeit not in points
that’s called no fucking improvements, shoving everyone in defence to stop letting in so many goals which in turn stops you from scoring goals and getting less points because of it, isn’t an improvement in any shape or form.
I despise this bloke with a passion

It’s absolute nonsense to pretend Lopetegui wasn’t responsible for our summer signings. The club did not buy players he didn’t want.

Re: Potter Out
I thought this was a Potter thread, yet you keep going back to the previous manager having originally brought him up about spunking most of the money that was mainly down to Steidten and Sullivan before him.
Re: Potter Out
...and your man Lopetegui was responsible for Kilman, Soler and Rodriguez and - unless he's a man with no integrity who was happy to quietly take the dollar whilst disagreeing with his paymasters - was presumably happy to retain the ones already there and sanctioned all the other new arrivals

I knew you'd struggle to argue how all that money was spent. Steidten is your man to blame for that.

That's £144M money spunked by our former head of recruitment.
And it can even be levelled at him wanting to bring in Alvarez too, although some dispute it being more Nobles man - a joint decision that certainly wasn't Lopetegui's at another cool £35M big ones which would take the grand total up to £179M..

Apart from £40M spent on Kilman I'm struggling to see who else Lopetegui spent millions on in the Squad. Re: Potter Out
Brighton fan done a video with the lad on Hammerschat.
Didn't exactly go in on him as a manager for a club like Brighton, good and bad points.
However, as I've suggested, doesn't think he's a good fit for a club like ours, with a (rightly) demanding fanbase.
Nice guy, but the geezer doesn't have the gumption for West Ham. Might finish mid table next season, but bored to tears in the process.
Graham Curbishley.
