They're both really fucking shit at their jobs.
But Sullivan has fuck all to do with a supposed top level coach being unable to get a tune out of this group of players after months of working with them.
But he had everything to do with
a) The appointment of Tim Steidten who assembled a squad of players without giving proper attention to the balance of that squad
b) The appointment of first Julen Lopetegui and then Graham Potter, who have both failed to live up to his expectations.
c) The fact that, because of his reputation in business and obvious lack of nous as a football club owner, it is impossible for West Ham to expect any coach with the highest credentials to consider joining the club. Hence the appointments mentioned in b) and, of course, several appointments prior to this season.
So he eventually must take responsibility for the failings of the business he runs.

Re: Potter Out
I’ve never looked forward to a season less than the next one. Potter will probably limp on for a while, and that will be a great excuse for Sullivan to keep his hand in his pockets. Potter is not even the real problem, as hapless as he looks at the moment, the midget is the common denominator in every mistake this club makes.

Re: Potter Out
I reckon we could lose all 4 and Sullivan still wouldn't bin him off.
I wonder if he'll pin any of the blame on Brady is it does go south at the start of next season, and sack her as well, seeing as it was her who recommended her MATE?

I reckon it's all in Potter's hands for the next four remaining games. Lose all four and Sullivan will definitely fire him.
A couple of wins and draws will keep Potter in a job for next season.
I hope he wins them all but frankly. I fear he won't.
I don't think it's off the table that he could still go, as you say a large part will depend on how the last 4 games go, lose all or say 3 of them it might be a sit down and an amicable parting of the ways, which would finish Potter as a top level manager. All being even though he gets the summer.

Well we fucking know that don't we, but he's not going is he, so we either discuss the current situation within reasonable context or just talk about films and politics etc? You've had plenty to say on Potter and other managers, but now you are telling others what to say?? Don't they call that policing the board?

Re: Potter Out
When you strip it down this is just a mad, almost unheard of situation. The two choices are we sack yet another manager, meaning we move on to our 4th one in a year (and not even giving this one a window/pre-season) Or the owner keeps a manager who he doesn't rate, who has produced shocking results thus far, and backs him in the window?? How the fuck does that work? Just a terrible situation, Sullivan needs to go with his gut and cut his losses, even if he probably will fuck up the new appointment. Maybe we need to lose on Sunday to increase the chances of him doing the right thing?

Of who you agree with and I'm sorry but Phillips is wrong on this occasion because if he had zero interest, he wouldn't have selected the Academy boys when he did, especially having not long been at the Club in doing so.

I thinkj this is the point most people are making.
And the point I was making is I would definitely twist, rather than stick, as we might get lucky.
Why stick with a bloke who has made us as shit as Southampton in his 4 months at the club? That truly is fucking stupid.

The job of manager has serious implications for everyone involved with the club. Potter has millions in the bank and doesn’t need to work at all unlike lots of people he will effect. Also these guys get to make and destroy footballing careers.
I give zero fucks about criticising how this man does his job.

Not necessarily mate. You have to take account of the quality, or lack of it, on the opposition's negotiating team.

I actually think it’s the one thing Sullivan could do to redeem himself. The thing most fans would not give him any stick for at all.
He will look like a complete dick if he’s spent a load on transfers in the summer, got rid of a load of players and is 17th at Xmas.
That would be solely his doing.
