Eurovision

Post Gank »

First semi final tonight. Semi final Thursday night.

Grand finals on Saturday 8pm.

They've moved the FA Cup final kickoff to make sure if it goes to penalties it won't overlap with the song contest.

Sweden will win it this year.

Delighted that Malta got through. Really like the song and like even more how they got around the objections to the original version (apparently led by the BBC, which I get).

Remember Monday were a lot better than I thought they'd be, although that isn't saying much. The live version masks the enormous flaws in the song a little.

Not a classic year, musically.

He's the weirdo who used to pretend that he knew who the kit manufacturer was going to be etc - same as now. Can't remember his username as it was a pretty pointless character, but I remember it for the weird lies.

Definitely a long time WHOer with a 'hilarious' character that wasn't even funny when it started. To keep it up for such a long time is just tragic.

I think he’s posting under Gank.

No way this Gank (Gay Wank) is the same Gank from the old site.

Played it safe with a mixture of styles to appeal to a large audience and avoid the old 'nil points' but is far too safe and generalist to get anywhere near the win. Could be worth an each way bet if it places 5 but never top three.

If you had to choose between watching Eurovision or shooting yourself in the foot, what foot would you choose?

Sam Ryder done well as we were literally the only cunts helping Ukraine at that time and the rest of Europe knew it and so for once we weren't hated.

Plus he was a likeable bloke with a song that wasn't that bad, unlike that shite last year.

I'm clearly not homosexual enough to buy into it fully, as i think that swedish song this year is appalling.

Nah. We'll still get lowballed no matter how good or bad the song is. Sam Ryder only came second so they could stitch the UK up by making us host it without winning it. It's absolutely not a coincidence that it is the only year since 2009 the UK has cracked the top 10.

Mind you it doesn't help that almost all the songs are absolute shit written for and sung by a niche audience/performer that are never going to trouble the scorers

Sadly not - Sky's budget wouldn't stretch that far. But Ryanair from Stansted cost them £850 for two!

Not going this year. Won weekend Paddock Club tickets to the F1 in Barcelona so something had to give annual leave-wise.

And I'd rather be a site bender than a site fantasist.

Europe is an inconsequential landmass off the coast of the British Isles. I really think we do those euro yokels no favours by allowing them to think they have any contribution to make to popular music. Leave that to the Anglophone nations.
