I used to like Alan Shearer as a player for England but since he has moved into the media he has become a right wanker too.

Forever sucking up to Lineker and refusing to appear (with others ) when he was suspended.

I think most traditional football fans have had it with these presenters and pundits now and watch highlights through mediums where you don't have to suffer them.

Even Martin Keowns become a luvvie and refused to criticise Lineker.

Gary, It's the pundits who do the colour commentary that get me, you know the usual bollocks phrases like "he'll be disappointed with that" no shit fiucking Sherlock. cսnt

"He's entitled to go down there" no he isn't you cսnt you're encouraging cheating.

I watch MOTD after recording it so I can fast fwd through other games I’ve seen or endless wanking over Liverpool etc
Would say it needed a shakeup & the idea that Lineker pocketed £1.3m a year & I think Shearer around £600k (no wonder he loves Lineker) is ludicrous
Personally I think tv personalities should just do their job & keep their opinions to themselves but if Lineker wanted to spout off he must have known that he’d cross the line & annoy the wrong people eventually
Bit naive not to know that criticising Israel will get you cancelled

Let’s be honest, Lineker has turned into a self obsessed, self important prick. He’ll be running for MP somewhere next or become a presenter on the Palestinian version of MOTD!!

I used to like Lineker, but aren't you supposed to grow out of these far left fantasies as you get older?

It doesn't matter though, because he has the 'correct' political views, and he doesn't look and sound like Greg Wallace.

Gary and Wayne don't get on too well these days apparently.

As for the BBC I'm sure one or two journos will be sniffing around looking for a story from former colleagues once he departs.

Joey Barton was of course the one who really got under his skin.

Ask any women who worked on Match of the Day when it was based in London, what they think of Saint Gary, him and Wayne are two peas in a pod.

Wasn’t around but don’t imagine the bbc censored any criticism of the NAZI’s as anti-Germanic during WW2
Of course maybe Charles ‘Charlie’ Charles of Bolton Wanderers got on the World Service to say his bit

I'm against dropping bombs on German babies, but on the whole I think WW2 was justified.

I’m sure they always intended for him to be covered as he appeared on the bbc
Understood it originally applied to employees who were involved in news & current affairs as don’t think they imagined that sports presenters would pipe up on ‘political matters’

Being against Israel blowing up children is obviously regarded as a political matter which the bbc feels they have to be neutral about

It's a dying show.  I don't know anyone that watches it anymore.

Lineker probably knows this, and like the rat he is (see what I did there?), he's escaping the sinking ship.

The BBC should use that £200m they pay for the highlights package for something else antisemitic.

ps- As a freelancer rather than a bbc employee he didn’t break the rules
Until they changed them to include him
You are correct. But, in fairness, the BBC always intended the rules to include him and other high profile freelancers, everyone knew that to be the case and he wriggled out on a technicality.

And i dread to think who will replace him 😨 not a white male former footballer that's for sure, anything but from the current hierarchy at the BBC.

It's one white bloke (Chapman) and two white women (Cates and Logan) I believe Sydney.

His social conscience seems to be easily put to one side when there is a nice few quid flying about.

Hopefully he will be finally outed at some point.

Jaan

You beat me to it. He says he cry's every day over the children who are getting killed daily in Gaza. Fair point. Yet he is very pally with a despicable cսnt whose lies contributed massively to the deaths of  countless numbers of kids in Iraq.

Also, when he was banging in about climate change at the opening of the Qatar world cup, he was asked  ( on twitter) why he didnt stay at home rather than fly out. He said he had no choice as it was his job. He was then told the BBC did an excellent job of covering the Tokyo Olympics from London during covid, why couldn't they do likewise for the world cup if the climate was such a concern. In answer to this very genuine and serious question, Lineker deleted the thread. Bloke is a grad A hypocritical cսnt.
