Mate of mine had a Brennan. He didn't rate it at all.

Well I did have a Brennan JB7. and I wasn’t impressed with it at all. Maybe the new generation of Brennan’s are better but I ended up regretting buying my JB7. And it didn’t last very long before it went wrong. Less than two years if I remember correctly.

They are far superior in sound quality to cassettes, almost CD quality.

yes I still find them a convenient way to record your own compilations, maybe mixing tracks up to keep albums sounding fresh. To me they were the natural successor to cassettes. Except unlike cassettes they won’t chew and you can move tracks around.
