Re: Antonio
Not sure anyone bar Saudi will offer him any more than our Wilson type deal
If I had to guess I think he will retire & take up a role at the club plus do some media work
Sure he will make an appearance at an early home game for a farewell

Re: Antonio
I'm not sure he won't be back for an absolute pittance after the transfer window closes and we haven't signed any other strikers, TBH.
Be interesting to see how he feels about his 'mate' Wilson basically nicking his squad place.

Re: Antonio
Officially gone. Deserved a much better send-off than that end of the season after all his mammoth contribution to the Club this past decade.
I'd also sooner have Antonio on 1 robocop leg as a 3rd/4th Striker back-up than perma-crock himself Wilson for just 1 season. To think we swapped out a proper West Ham player for that twat.
And yes of course what I say is mostly driven by sentimentality but some things do actually mean something to me in the game.

It was interesting/sad but not surprising that his legs were visibly different sizes.
I guess the point is that he is still a ways from top level football. Was he running in a straight line or in circles?
And was he actually any good at all? I'm assuming no.
The game I saw, he came in for about 11 minutes at the end in the left side of midfield and couldn't keep up with the pace of the game. CONCACAF doesn't exactly match the prem for pace either.

Sure there will be an early season home game where he can be farewelled. Maybe even that Lille gameThe club have announced what they are doing. He is a free agent until his medical situation (which they will continue to pay for) is clear. If all goes well, they will re-sign him, in the meantime he is free to leave if someone else is dumb enough to sign him.
Not sure there is an intention to sign him if he shows good signs of recovery? However well he recovers, he's 35 years old and wasn't good enough for another year before the car crash. Expect they are just supporting him fully through recovery which must be very close seeing as he's played for Jamaica now.

Re: Antonio
My view is his ‘medical situation’ is that he is a 35yo who has been in a major car accident
Even without the accident it was time to move on
Now it’s a no brainer
Sentimentality or penny pinching in not wanting to buy a replacement?

Re: Antonio
For some reason this had me thinking of Mik as some sort of mountain goat.
Ha.
I guess I could technically have said the muscle in his two legs was visibily different.
But the other visual is better, for sure.
(Somewhat coincidentially, I almost hit a mountain goat driving back from Vancouver on Sunday.)

Perhaps we can somehow attach him to Todibo, like in a three legged race. I'm sure we can get one great player from the pair of them.
He should have called it a day and got his round of applause with Cress and fabbers .

Its a huge thank you Mikey for everything you have done for us, but it would be a shame to see you run out for next year, because it means its going to be a another long season to watch!
Think you got the wrong year there, pal.

Have to say didn't realise he was 35! That is getting on. Still wouldn't mind seeing him coming on from the bench when needed. But difficult to move on for me with some players.

Forget the IF
500m are flushed away the past 3 years, we HAVE failed miserably.
Expect it to continue with the BS regime

Re: Antonio
I don't want to see him play in a West Ham shirt again personally.
Grateful for what he has done for the club to date, but if he is in our squad next season it can only mean that, once again, the recruitment team have failed to find a striker.
I wish him well, but having to rely on a 35 year striker who could barely walk a couple of months ago, would be a huge indication of just how pathetic this club is run these days.
Nota dig at Antonio, but at the club.
