Summer Transfer Window 2025 | Official Thread

Post stubbo-admin »

May as well get going with this since with Sullivan at the helm, season ticket renewals slow, and the football vacuum to commence, this will soon be all the "news" there is.

Can Potter and MacCauley pull multiple rabbits out of the hat, or will Sullivan 'try really hard' with all of them before grabbing a few aging bargains from Big Willie Salthouse?

Very highly thought of but he's just signed a lucrative new long-term contract that some say makes him the best paid player by quite some margin in the Spanish Second Division...
Be nice. However Chelsea are interested. And Deportivo are holding out for £!7 million. Most likely we are the staking horse in this race.?
The new release clause is 35million euros...

Wolves fans saying we could sell a couple of players for £100m …. oh, we already have (Cunha & Ait Nouri)
Ait Nouri was a great find for them. Great value. The sort of player we so rarely seem to be able to capture. Cunha was expensive and a bit more of a risk but still they turned a tidy profit on him.

Both purchased the correct side of 25.

Tell me Lop didn't sign either of them- please! (Just checked- he did buy Cunha, on loan, before leaving due to complaints about lack of funds, just after they'd paid over 40 million to get him permanently)

Harvey Elliott, 40m

Striker Thierno Barry from Villareal, in talks with Everton for £34m

I see Everton also bidding for the young German Woltemade.

Felt to me like Moyes tried to stay clear of these types of players when he was at the club.

One of the main reasons why our squad is so old!

Seems we looked in January but they were trying to qualify for Europe
Nice want £25m
Based on watching him zero times but looking at some youtube videos he does look good. Direct and quick despite being 6 ft 2. Wolves already have Strand Larsen of a similar mould so hopefully they steer clear.

Strand Larsen is another player that would have been a much better signing for us than say Fullkrug.

None of these strikers mentioned fill me with much optimism, I feel that somewhere out there is a player who would be perfect for us but we just need Macauley to find him.

Thanks Chutney.

You know what the old saying is, "imitation is the sincerest form of flattery" and all that.

Don’t flatter yourself, Trundle son.

It’s common knowledge that Elliott is from Chertsey. I know his old man, Scott.

It did make me laugh when I read "The former Fulham academy star, who grew up in Chertsey".

I reckon they've lifted that from me.

So Kerkez and Reijinders both make big money moves to top clubs this summer. Both played for a team we came up against in the conference league where we got a really good look at them both. Missed a trick there.

The £15m sounds like nonsense
If it was true you’d ask yourself would you pay a £15m transfer fee for Brownhill because that’s effectively what it would be.
Id be looking at other Championship midfielders anyway
Younger with more upside eg Hackney of Boro

Jog on.

Brownhill hasn't asked for £15m.
What actually happened was some ex-West Ham (think it might have been Martin Allen?) said he could demand up to £15m because it's a free transfer.

Either way, a pretty uninspiring signing.
Fair point. It's absolute conjecture after digging into it a touch more. We should steer well clear of chucking that sort of money at someone like him, though, who you would hope is not going to be starting week in week out for us,

If were looking at names, then I'd suggest that Willy Smallbone is much better than Raphael Onyedika.

Keep dreaming" wrote: 26 Jun 2025, 12:54 Looks like Liverpool want 40m for Elliot.

They bought Keekez for 64m and Wirtz for 120m, so 40m for Elliot makes sense.

If we were a bit smart, and invested for more than a year ahead, Elliot would be both sensible and smart.
He would strengthen the team and his value most like will go up.

It's not Sullivan though, and I'm furious about it
He's more likely to try and tempt Adam Lallana out of retirement.
I shouldn't even joke about that...

And Elliott would immediately fill an important role in our team, if he can play that CAM slot. But we definitely aren't getting him. No chance in hell. 40 mill is far too much for Sullivan to spend on a young player.
