What this reveals is not simply contradiction—it is the indulgence of belief without consequence. It is the fashionable privilege of “virtue” when it costs nothing, and the swift return to tribal gatekeeping the moment it does. Their idea of equality lasts only as long as the headline act. After that, it’s back to gated communities, private education, and NIMBY politics dressed up in progressive hashtags.

The problem isn’t that they’ve built a wall. The problem is that they think only other people’s walls are immoral. "

The tattered remnants of #2 son has just arrived home from Glastonbury. At his age, one decent night's sleep and he'll be fully recovered and ready to start partying again. What he's just done would probably kill me now.

In many ways I'm glad that I'm not young, and have no desire whatsoever to put myself through the hell of a multi-day festival. Just staying until the end of a gig is quite an achievement for me now...
