Noble rang him up and sold him a load of old flannel to convince him that a move to West Ham would represent a pathway to the first team. Given that the lad has played Champions League football already, Noble is quite the snake oil salesman.

He will be playing Championship football next year.

I agree, lets give the lad a chance, but also get that these deals very rarely if ever amount to much, club bigs up some kid to try and make out how "great" we are in the transfer market, in part to try and cover up our failure to do much.

Maybe one day we will strike gold with signing a "wonderkid" but not getting too excited about this just yet
