Don't fall off your chair goose, but it's now become all but confirmed that there was indeed a huge, monumental cover up for those specific reasons, which has now led to a public enquiry.
Reverse the situation and picture it happening in another country (use your imagination and think of a country) do you think the indigenous people would shrug their shoulders, like One Sunny They does?A poster did say that, as well as saying he agreed with burning down houses of innocent people in NI because they happened to be immigrants.
I’m sure I’ve posted stuff that’s crossed the line before, this is WHO and it’s just the way it is. It doesn’t bother me, but in the context of ‘is it racist?’ Of course it is.
Apologies, it's obviously your bumchum that's said it, to be honest I don't read your back and forths.
That's not the general consensus, I've made clear in my post what is. It's worrying that there are still people out there who firstly don't understand that, and secondly try to make out that it isn't/hasn't been a specific problem. Luckily, I don't have anyone who I know personally who thinks like that, because I find those types of people the scum of the earth.
Bumchum? Old skool insult.
There 100% is a horrific failure by police & child services to act on this. There’s also a specific cultural problem.
But it’s entirely possible to recognise that and not use the language that my bumchum was using.

Re: This place is DEAD these days
Says the man who doesn't think the death of a world famous footballer should warrant anymore than a comment in the 'in other news' section of the press, doesn't think it should be discussed on a FOOTBALL messageboard, yet does think everyone else on that FOOTBALL messageboard needs to constantly hear about his career as a phone repair administrator, his early retirement, and his new life taking in the 'culture' in the Far East.

This is a great example of why the site is dying. Someone who was constantly abused and sensibly left is still receiving abuse. No wonder people leave.
Re: This place is DEAD these days
Keyboard warriors constantly bleating on enforcing there crazy opinions. It stops any decent debate with multiple opinions , it used to feel like a pub or sports club where all chatted. Think people see certain posters messages type loads then delete these days , thinking what is the point. No whitty responses just slagging off and made up crap to fit the narrative. So loads just read and don't bother. Bring back Tyler burden days haha

Re: This place is DEAD these days
I really don't imagine that many people would leave the site due to the racism of certain posters. The fact that these posters (and the ones who argue with them) tend to be self righteous, obnoxious and worst of all deadly fucking boring is the reason why they'd leave or not post much.
Moderation doesn't have to be based on specific rules. If someone is deemed to be boring, just ban the cսnt, and if they don't like it, fuck 'em.

Well this "free speech" debate has played out already on a much bigger platform, Twitter/X. Before Musk, many critics of the site were saying it was being censored by interpreting the definition of racism so broadly that people were being banned for posting anything that didn't align with an open borders pro-diversity agenda. Musk changes that and now there is group of people who think the site is a sewer of racist views being aired and not moderated.
Whoever is right on that argument (I presume you are in the latter camp) we can at least see now how the change affected the business:

The Muslim community, are having children at a faster rate than any other culture/religion whatever you want to call it.
Like it or not, unless the women of this world open their legs a bit more, we're going to be a muslim country. Maybe not in our lifetimes, but it WILL happen if the birth rates continue as they are.
I blame the covid vaccine. Had a happy health baby pre covid vaccine, had the two jabs and since then we've had 3 miscarriages.
Coincidence? Hmmm

One Sunny Day would have you believe that WHO is a hotbed of extreme right wing fanaticism, and that the casual observer would swerve the place and yet here he is sitting right in with all these "fascists".

Re: This place is DEAD these days
People in general are (feeling) less secure than they once did, for a myriad of reasons and a sign of that is becoming more polarised and less tolerant of views that don't full align, or worse make you rethink about, yours.
People do seek security in numbers and get this by limiting who they interact with in order to avoid admitting they might - just might - be wrong about something.
It's not far short of religious fanaticism; decide what is "right" and then force the truth to support that choice, shouting down/discrediting/cancelling anything unacceptable or awkward.
The ignorant and closed-minded are easy to lead and manipulate to do your bidding, the truly educated and open-minded less so.

Fuck sake OSD, you sound like Keir Starmer or Owen Jones
with all this wanting something done about views or opinions you don't agree with, how about FREE SPEECH, WHO is at least a forum that lets people vent, swear or say things that would get taken down or bans issued anywhere else.
If anything, WHO should be celebrated for that, even if you, me or anyone may not agree with another's view or opinion or being told we are a cսnt etc and although i can't recall anything specific (apart from the Jota thread yesterday) but on occasion threads are taken down or locked when things get out of hand, but the point is the tolerance is high, which it should be in a democratic and free society.
So pull your nanny state, offended on behalf of other head in and just ignore stuff you dont like
As you where

The real question is how to seek new blood? We're a bit 'League of Gentlemen' these days...."a Local Pub for Local People"...hard to break into, somewhat unwelcoming, and a forum's attractiveness is only as enticing as the discussion and activity within it.
We can spend some money, run some ads etc to try and attract a new influx, but ultimately what is the site's sell vs. KUMB, Reddit forums, and Facebook groups (which are the real competition for traditional text-based communities) and more widely compared to the myriad of YouTube and Patreon channels where the majority of West Ham content is created/consumed these days?
Fundamentally, it only gets better if more people create and contribute.
219 users logged in the last 3 days....how many posted or created a thread?!
Maybe people logged in, saw someone ranting that brown people should be locked up for having a rape gene, saw nothing done about it and thought "nah, this really isn't somewhere I want to hang out." Just a thought, off the top of my head.
