Re: Official Transfer rumours and gossip thread
"I don’t necessarily think its playing left wing that ruined Fornals, he did a job there albeit because his work rate suited the ultra defensive setup. It’s going from being one of Moyes first picks on the basis of the above to suddenly not getting any game time, save for maybe 2 minutes here and there. It was clear in that Bournemouth away game last season how frustrated he was and how much mental toll it had taken. Just absolutely abysmal man management, really. He’s certainly not a world beater, but has been an overall good signing for us. Hope he goes back to Spain and has a good remainder of his career. There aren’t many players that can turn it on in odd opportunities when given no game time to maintain any sort of sharpness, that’s for sure."

"While all of us would quite happily crawl over hot coals to enjoy Fornal's career misfortune, this has been a wasted season for him thanks to Moyes. He has every right to reflect on this and respond as he sees fit; if he joins another club I wish him nothing but the best there - he has been excellent for West Ham."
Re: Official Transfer rumours and gossip thread
The word “destroyed” might be a bit dramatic but I understand what people mean. He was a central midfielder ( creative in the no 8 or 10 role) for Spains U21 team wgebwe got him and very highly rated. He always played centrally since he’s not blessed with pace but could thread a pass thru a defence. He also worked hard for the team. Moyes has never played him there aside from a handful of games but he’s a bloke with a good attitude who never complained. Like I say no pace tge one thing you need as a wide man to get around the outside of errrbces and fullbacks. And to get on the end of a long diagonal over the top. Same with Benrahma. But he was getting games until last season and this with the arrival of Paqueta etc. Being dropped and never given a chance in his best position has probably undermine his confidence as he does seem to be a sensitive soul. Moyes is famed for dreadful man management skills and not having the little chats with players not in the team. Heard it many times. He just doesn’t speak to them. So plays him out of position and drops him as if he is a failed wide man which he never was in the first place. Moyes prefers a bloke who is good in the air defensively and can sometimes get on the end of a set piece or cross. Soucek can’t play with his feet but Moyesball doesn’t Exocet to have the ball much. Fornals needs another club or manager

Re: Official Transfer rumours and gossip thread
"I'm rather disappointed with the way Moyes has destroyed Fornals; when he joined he seemed to ""get"" what West Ham was all about and would run through walls for his team mates; I saw him as some sort of latter day Patsy Holland, never the brightest star but always helping others to shine and talented enough to cook up a few gems. I seem to recall a feeling that his name was only second to Rice's on the team sheet as the other players truly appreciated what he brought to the squad, but constantly played out of position and never even recognised, let alone praised, by Moyes has clearly taken it's toll. Wherever he ends up, I wish him well and hope that he can resurrect his career."

Re: Official Transfer rumours and gossip thread
Fornals is on the linked out list surely? had a few approaches for him last window clearly not happy with lack of 1st team opportunities. Taking up the contract extension option on him was just to acheive a price in the January window I would have thoiught?
Re: Official Transfer rumours and gossip thread
Exceeding unlikely as he only joined them in the summer but we should see if Calvin Bassey is available from Fulham. Can play CB or RB and was signed for £21m I believe. They are one of the clubs interested in Benrahma so see if a deal can be done...
Re: Official Transfer rumours and gossip thread
"Sport Witness West Ham ‘ready to shell out’ and beat 2 PL clubs to signing – Quite a battle developing West Ham United have been credited with interest in signing Salernitana’s Boulaye Dia in the winter market. Il Mattino have a report explaining the possible deals that may be carried out involving players from both the Serie A side and Napoli. Salernitana CEO Danilo Iervolino has already asked the Naples club for Alessio Zerbin, Gianluca Gaetano and Diego Demme, for next summer. In return, Napoli chairman Aurelio De Laurentiis has requested Dia, who it’s stated is also wanted by West Ham. It’s said Salernitana would like to get rid of the 27-year-old in January, and both David Moyes’ side and Eintracht Frankfurt are ‘ready to shell out’ the €16m requested. There’s no mention if the Senegal international is willing to join either the Hammers or the Bundesliga side. If he decides against leaving Salernitana in January, Napoli could think of him after this season. Earlier today, we covered claims from Italy that Newcastle United could snatch the striker, after Wolverhampton Wanderers’ latest loan offer was rejected by the Italian club. With the Hammers now ready to make an offer, they can beat the Premier League duo in the transfer race."
Re: Official Transfer rumours and gossip thread
"Just read this on kumb says he's heard it but take with a pinch of salt Apparently we’ve got bids in for 4 players. Expecting Benny to leave this window, Fornals more likely in the summer. Cornet whenever we can shift him. Guirassy is one, and we think it’s a done deal, but things can happen before he joins after AFCON, so we have bids in with back ups. One depresses me enormously; but there you go. CB is the only other position I know we’re keen on. I guess that’s with Zouma’s injury record and Aguerd and Mavrapano’s patchy form in mind. Leverkusen want mad money for Tah, so can’t see it happening."

Re: Official Transfer rumours and gossip thread
Link to this 'lots of noise' please Have the Saudi's made many big fee offers? Havent paid much attention but thought most of their offers were ludicrous salaries rather than large fees Almost certain you'd imagine a Champions League club will trigger his £85m buyout in the summer

Re: January Transfer Window
"Lots of noise about the Saudis wanting Paquetta, if the offer silly money surely we would have to take it? Not that I want him to go but how many players over the years apart from Rice have we received a big sell on few for???"
Re: January Transfer Window
"Soucek out you say ?!!! How dare you blaspheme in this way !!! The day it happens where he is not a regular starter will represent progress but I hope it happens start of next season We have 2 lists really if you follow the rumours. The Steidten list with lots of German and French based players like Tah, the striker at Stuttgart etc Then there is the Moyes preferences like Dier, Maguire, Worrell, Lingard ( ok just a laugh this one) and anyone that’s played for the Mancs really. ;-)"

Re: January Transfer Window
See we have been linked with Ian Maatsen of Chelsea again. Allegedly Chelsea are looking to move players out to get players in so they operate within FFP regs. Maatsen would then provide back up to Emerson and we can offload Cresswell.
Re: January Transfer Window
We were very heavily linked with Andre from Fluminense in the summer along with Liverpool. It now looks as though Fulham are in prime position to sign him. Andre is a CDM with a bit of flair... exactly the sort of player we should be going for IMO.
Re: January Transfer Window
"Dier would be exactly the type of signing we would make if Moyes was calling the shots. Hopefully it’s the usual transfer window nonsense and even if true Steidten would save Moyes from himself. Soucek renewing will keep Kretinsky happy :-). It doesn’t always mean much but necessary to get a better price if anyone was ever interested. You would hope he is not an automatic starter next season. That would be a real signal of progress and the club strengthening further. Never had an issue with him in the squad and playing certain games already as cover or as a tactical sub but what I would, hand on my heart say, he is not a very good footballer technically and too slow for many games in the Premiership."
