Summer Transfer Window 2025 | Official Thread

Post stubbo-admin »

May as well get going with this since with Sullivan at the helm, season ticket renewals slow, and the football vacuum to commence, this will soon be all the "news" there is.

Can Potter and MacCauley pull multiple rabbits out of the hat, or will Sullivan 'try really hard' with all of them before grabbing a few aging bargains from Big Willie Salthouse?

So Vickery who has watched him a lot thinks he's decent... The majority on here who have never seen him have labelled him a clown.
Palacios looks a very good player from what I've seen, but this is driven by Sullivan and not the recruitment team if you believe the rumours, but I suppose those that believe it about other players have to, right?

Looks just the type we need.

The perfect scenario would be to get the brazilian and hermanson and get rid of areola all for a net <£20m.

I can dream can't I?

Guy on sky sports (tim vickery) reckons john victor is a quality goalkeeper.

He has contradicted himself a little bit though.  Mentioned he has made mistakes (but added caveat that all keepers have) and said fans have turned against him but thinks it's because they dont want him to go.

Said the language barrier could be an issue bit thinks we're getting a good keeper.

John Victor from Botafogo - Player and transfers terms agreed. Now today we see Hermanson player and transfer terms agreed. Now we have made a bid for Michael Zetterer from Werder Bremen. Not sure if this is a matserclass or just a throw what you can and see what sticks.

We have made  formal enquiries for Sterling and Yves Bissouma.

We have tabled a formal bid for Douglas Luiz to ward off interest from Forest.

We have lodged formal interest in Cagliari striker Roberto Piccollo. Cagliari are resigned to sell and we are awaiting valuation.

No doubt the desire is to play the three clubs off against each other to try and lower the price for one of them. Very short term I suppose you could say it's a shrewd move to try and extract a little more value out of this transfer, BUT long term it just I am sure makes clubs even more wary of dealing with Sullivan if he's just going to be gaslighting them and pulling rugs and trying to change terms last minute and play people off against each other. I'm sure other clubs don't operate like this quite so brazenly.
It's like he doesn't care what keeper we actually end up with and whether they are the best fit as long as it's as cheaply as possible. Sure if Hermanson is the main target and we knock a couple of mill off the price then it's a 'win' but are Leicester, Botofogo and Bremen going to be willing to deal with him again? Maybe not.

Obviously he wouldn’t play ahead of Bowen
I do wonder if Elliot was even aware of our interest. Would seem to me that he would only be interested in Champions League team at this stage of his career.... Considering where he is coming from. I also think if we were deadly serious about signing him, things would've progressed further than they are now. No doubt was just a Sulli mole that put this out there.

As you say Paqueta reprieved, Guillherme hopefully more prominent and Summerville back mid to end of September.

As far as I'm aware, we've never been close to signing Elliott.

I not out begging for information, but I reckon I might get told if anything was on the horizon with him.

Who knows who we will get, I was warming to Big John though... Not seen much of Hermanson other than some good saves against us and throwing one in his own net.

It's a lot of money. We've also bid for a German keeper from Werder Breman...

A bit embarrassing that Hammers News is calling our transfer chase for a goalkeeper a "masterclass" suggesting that the John Victor bid was a carefully calculated smokescreen to get the Hermanson deal done.

Well firstly, not even convinced that we'll get the Hermanson deal done seeing as for me he's the best choice, but also... as if this all intentional and tactical from West Ham.

It's out usual scattergun approach and then see what happens.

That's alright, 2 for the price of 1, we can chuck him in the birds Team as well. Sullivan will love that idea. 🤑

Don’t be silly. We can save a whole weeks wages if we sign him hours before the opening game or even better several weeks, hours before the window shuts.

4D chess from Sullivan yet again.

Don’t know Reitz Palacios or Sudakov
From what I’d seen previously Reitz had rejected us & had bigger fish to fry
Sudakov sounded expensive though I guess could be negotiated down if no other suitors will pay
Palacios is a recent one … most of the comments seem to imply he’d be looking at bigger clubs

Sorry to piss on anyone’s chips 🍟

I said back in June we wouldn't see much action until close to the start of the season and low and behold that's what's happening!

Pathetic really, all we have is 1 signing (Not including Todibo) and a couple of frees.

just maybe had we got our arse into gear and got more than the bare bones in a month or so ago, a decent time for the new faces to gel and up to speed, now its the usual scramble (or punt) and hope we can find players before the end of the month.

Typical West Ham😠

Villa have not got much wrong in the transfer market since their return. Quite impressive they were in the championship just 5/6 years ago.

One of a number of clubs that have leaped frogged us in terms of quality whilst we have sat still/gone backwards.

Medical today
Talk of Ollie Watkins going to Man U previously

Tyler Morton of Liverpool signs for Lyon for £15m
Guessing we are prioritising Freddie Potts over a player who’d had a couple of good Championship seasons on loan

You believe him! 🤣

I wouldn’t say I believe him but it is a real threat and a sobering thought. To laugh it off and dismiss it completely is an extreme reaction .  A real sign that you’re rattled. It’s ok it’s an awful reality to live under.

Turn it in ffs we've got the Politics thread for this. And I will laugh off clearly unsubstantiated alarmist bollocks when I do see it because you believe him. So if anyone's rattled because of it being called out, it's you.
I agree turn it in.
