Re: January Transfer Window
"Manuel - ""Kudus only has a knock"" - he's at fucking AFCON. We just have to hope that Ghana don't go very far in the competition. Paqueta looks like being out for a month and Bowen could be even longer. If you think we're going to prosper when we're dependent on the likes of Benrahma, Fornals, Ings and Mubama, I really don't know what planet you're on."

Re: January Transfer Window
"Russ of the BML 9:37 Wed Jan 10 ''The injuries we've now got have basically fucked this season'' A bit over dramatic, which is unlike you. Kudus only has a knock and I can't see Paqueta being out for too long, Bowen unclear right now. We have winnable PL games coming up and don't play in Europe again until March, plus we might bring bodies in this month? So a bit of a stretch and a little defeatist to say the season is fucked, no? All that said, we're in a false position anyway and always thought we'd drop off in the league. Hopefully we can give the two cups a good go."
Re: January Transfer Window
"Ron - exactly this, otherwise he's an entitled ungrateful cսnt who should be careful what he wishes for and go and support spurs. Obviously the above goes to anyone who also thinks that games can be won with with more front foot play and doesn't think that will automatically result in 4-3 defeats rather than 1-0 wins."
Re: January Transfer Window
"Russ of the BML 9:37 Wed Jan 10 That’s the likely outcome as you say. We’ve had 3 years in Europe, won a trophy so a relatively successful period. Lack of squad depth and quality has caught up eventually. Steidten has his work cut out but I cannot see how much will get solved in the notoriously difficult Jan window. A club would have to pay significantly over the odds to get a regular starter from another club. It’s identifying the players that perhaps are not getting regular games but have ability that’s key because our owners won’t be paying over the odds."
Re: January Transfer Window
"Cheers Nagel. I was assuming the lack of game time was due to his downing of tools in the summer, but yeah, you could be right. Definitely a player in there though."

Re: January Transfer Window
"The injuries we've now got have basically fucked this season. A week ago Sullivan was sitting there with his feet on his desk and hands behind his head thinking ""6th in league, in FA cup, in Europa 16's - This is sweet. We can muddle through this window now. I'll see if I can get a couple on loan but nobody will expect any more than that to come in. I'll also offload a few and save on wages. Happy days."" But oh how a week changes things. Kudus injured and at AFCON, Paqueta injured, Bowen injured, Antonio injured. So now what? We now can't offload who we wanted. And Sullivan may now have to be digging into his pocket. But, then again, we're not getting relegated. Players will be coming back from injuries in a month or so. It'll just end up us finishing bottom half and winning nothing. But, hey ho, we're only little West Ham. That's what we always do."
Re: January Transfer Window
"dolph 4:47 Wed Jan 10 Gnonto has mainly been a sub at Leeds this season. Only started 7 league games. Don't know whether it's because he tried to force a move when they got relegated or simply that Daniel James and Crysencio Summerville are better players than him. He's still only 20 so maybe not quite ready yet (even at Championship level?), but if so that's the last sort of player you'd want with Moyes in charge."
Re: Official Transfer rumours and gossip thread
"exile , I was just winding Vexed up as he hates Moyes almost as much as I do/"
Re: January Transfer Window
"According to the bullshit tranny news reports, we could be sniffing around Clarke (Sunderland) and Gnonto (Leeds and Italy). Anyone seen them much? I remember thinking Gnonto looked a player for Leeds when in the prem. Seems explosive and must have something about him to be involved with Italy at such a young age. Albeit, they're not in the greatest place right now. Never seen Clarke apart from highlights. Looks decent, but perhaps not burning pace and a little lightweight. Homegrown though."
Re: January Transfer Window
With our wafer thin squad it's pointless getting rid of four or five and bringing in one or two. That's just shooting ourselves in the foot numbers wise especially considering Moyes reluctance to try the youngsters. January isn't the time for an overhaul.

Re: Official Transfer rumours and gossip thread
"INGS was a Sullivan buy (pretty much the only one considering how many others he gets accused of), so it's difficult to pin the blame on Moyes for that one."
Re: Official Transfer rumours and gossip thread
"dealcanvey - true, but I think it's fair to say that Moyes has more to answer for than most managers. Ings' value has depreciated mainly because Moyes shouldn't have bought such a player in the first place - completely unsuited to his system. Fornals and Benrahma have massively lost form and Moyes must take a big part of the blame for that. Johnson has gone backwards too. It can't just be coincidence that all these squad players go right off."

Re: Official Transfer rumours and gossip thread
I would say a majority of players at every other club not playing regularly for their teams lose value. That is not just a Moyes issue but every other manager also has to deal with the same.
Re: Official Transfer rumours and gossip thread
"I’m not a fan of David Sullivan at all, but the ‘poisoned dwarf’ has overseen us being in Europe for three years in succession and was in charge of the club when we won our first trophy in 43 years. Regardless of the football being played right now, how the fuck is any of the above ‘poisonous’?"
Re: Official Transfer rumours and gossip thread
I think even the most loyal Moyes fan would likely concede that his transfer dealings are among his weakest traits? Seems to buy a half decent CB but that’s about it? It’s allegedly why Sullivan was keen on bringing in a DOF? The amount of money we’ve lost on players is truly eye watering and although we are not alone in this ( Mancs etc ) when compared to many other clubs it’s been a serious impediment to progress under the Sullivan era. I just think Sullivan likes a manager close to his age who has provided him with a quiet life and bit of success. All short term and low risk but it’s why he will get renewed. Moyes has been the only successful manager Sullivan has employed and okie an old pair of tatty slippers he will stick with him and forgive some of his obvious and very costly deficiencies. I have resigned myself reluctantly to another 3 years watching Moyesball and a team built around Soucek but pin my hopes on Steidten to compensate for Moyes weaknesses. A real challenge for the German but even Moyes has been forced to play the quality players brought in.
Re: Official Transfer rumours and gossip thread
"CARTERS - you're going to get a tongue-lashing from Vexed if you refer to Moyes as his MATE! Vexed mentioned that Moyes has already eroded the value of potential outgoings like Ings, Benrahma etc. That's absolutely true, and they will lose even more value the longer they remain mostly on the bench and underperforming when they do get a few minutes. They will also lose value as they approach the end of their contracts. For this reason it might be the best thing to accept one or two low-ball offers."
Re: Official Transfer rumours and gossip thread
"VEXED. i I might be a lone voice but i truly enjoy your posts. However, I take issue with the guys Moyes has brought in during the window summer 2022. Three of the 7 are gone. Cornet doesn't get a game and only Agued ,who is rumoured out and Emerson and Areola are still here Coupled with the Villa has been, your MATE Moyes really has a lot to answer for. He and only He is to blame for everything wrong with this Club. The poisoned dwarf doesn't give a Flying Fuck as long as the money rolls in. So where are the Moyes guys he brought in?? 3 OUT OF 7 ? A small minority on here thinks this Arsehole is doing a good job. Just shows their knowledge of the game. In 59 years of support only recently I have wanted the side to lose just to get rid of this useless Prick. That is wrong I know but, 'CAN NO NE RID ME OF THIS MEDDLESOME MANGER,"
