Re: Official Transfer rumours and gossip thread
"Percy I agree Zouma unfortunately looks fucked, shame cos he is our best defender but what is this fascination with playing players out of position, I’ve never known a club like it. If we need a centre back then we should sign a centre back. Alvarez who is our best center mid should not be shoehorned into the side, especially as it’ll be just so Soucek can still trot around."
Re: Official Transfer rumours and gossip thread
"Yes, if we bring in a new forward, whether it's a striker or a left winger (can't see us getting both), it's an interesting question as to who gets left out if everyone is fit. Assuming the midfield 3 are Alvarez, Phillips and JWP and the front 3 are Bowen, Kudus and Paqueta, who makes way? Nice problem to have, I suppose."
Re: Official Transfer rumours and gossip thread
"I still think that front three can rotate and even if Paqueta is out there he can still dictate games, after all Alan Devonshire did quite well on the left! Bowen, Kudus and Paqueta all rotating would be a man markers nightmare."
Re: Official Transfer rumours and gossip thread
"I agree but that would mean Paqueta moving central and no JWP... Can't see Moyes doing that, having trouble seeing him leaving Soucek out. Claret & Booze reckon we're loaning Callum Wilson as well."
Re: Official Transfer rumours and gossip thread
"How the fuck is Kalvin Pineapple head an exciting signing? Fucking hell. It's the most drab fucking signing we could have conceived. Another holding midfielder. Woo. Ultra negative. And let's stop with this Alvarez to centre back shit, in case that fuckwit Moyes reads it and thinks it's actually a good idea. It fucking ain't. Our fucking squad is a mess and we're pissing around getting a player we dont fucking need in while we will line up with Johnson at RB and fucking Ings up top in our next game. Cunts."

Re: Official Transfer rumours and gossip thread
My opinion for what it's worth is Alvarez switch to centre back as Zouma is a liability far too slow and looks a cripple when he runs.
Re: Official Transfer rumours and gossip thread
We take ages getting deals done so it will be touch and go if he signs before the window shuts.
Re: Official Transfer rumours and gossip thread
The last injury update I saw on Alvarez was a calf problem and expected back for Bournemouth? But I suppose it could be a calf issue like Cornet which took 6 months. Let’s hope not and could just be rumours because we are going after Phillips Mind you with our luck and the curse of Soucek ( he never gets injured and always seems to find a way to get in the starting 11) :-)
Re: Official Transfer rumours and gossip thread
"Potatoe salad being replaced by meat and gravy pies and chips. As Willtell says, Soucek always looked like a CB playing in midfield. Will Tommy be prepared to be more of a squad man? I suspect not but we shall see."

Russ of the BML 3:47 That's a massive shame about Alvarez if true. In which case this becomes a very shrewd signing.

"Kudus, Alvarez, JWP and Phillips for the Rice money is genuinely ridiculous business"

Re: Official Transfer rumours and gossip thread
"Kalvin Phillips is an exciting signing and it will be interesting to see where he fits into the midfield Hopefully alongside Alvarez with JWP pushed further forward, which could leave Soucek playing odd man out"
Re: Official Transfer rumours and gossip thread
David Ornstein @David_Ornstein ?üö® Kalvin Phillips set to do medical on Thursday before completing proposed loan from Man City to West Ham. Option to buy applies if #WHUFC agree to pay #MCFC valuation in summer. Full salary to be covered. #Juventus were among other suitors @TheAthleticFC
Re: Official Transfer rumours and gossip thread
"Hopefully spells the end of seeing Soucek trying to play football on the weekly. I mean if we sign Phillips in the summer for the 34m reported that’ll be 65m spunked on two center midfielders edging towards 30 in the last 2 summers. Hope we finally sign a centre forward, that & a right back ideally."
