"Is it futile? We have three places for central midfielders.. If Alvarez plays then JWP and Phillips are contesting the same position surely? Kudus also would be contesting it of Bowen goes back right... That's not even considering Paqueta... So if Alverez plays I'd say Paqueta, Kudus and Phillips are all better than JWP..."

"Yet another futile debate in the offering Phillips v Ward-Prouse, they are different types of players. Both are good, and both have strengths and weaknesses. I think most of the time both will play. As for who is more likely to be on the plane for the Euros that is even more irrelevant from a West Ham perspective. Consider this Brooking or Bonds. Compare their stats and international records. Who was the better player? Just a rhetorical question. And no, I am not comparing Phillips and Ward-Prouse to Bonds and Brooking, Just an illustrative point as to the futility of comparison particularly in a modern setting when it is all about the strength of the squad of players. Phillips improves the squad when it is desperately needed."

"So Pep spent £55 million on a championship player.. That was England international team player of the year.. That Athletico Madrid, Barcelona, Juventus and I've just heard Bayern Munich have all enquired about him this window as well as Newcastle and Palace. OK... Another comedy profile.. Moyes is the only one that wanted JWP, I suppose Moyes is the best judge then. https://youtu.be/zmq7giSaEFA?si=xe4bBq7IcmIMgO4A"

Phillips is a quality Championship player and a below average Premier League player. He'd be better suited at say a Palace/Forest.

"He is quite good, scored a few free kicks. Phillips will get picked for England because he's good... JWP won't because he's not good enough.. He's a steady PL performer nothing more..."

"Phillips took the set prices at Leeds, I think? So even though he's not at JWP's level, he's still probably quite good at them."

"Ward-Prowse I think is better overall than Phillips. He's also a lot fitter and that's even when he was playing regularly. Out of the 2 if given the choice, it should be Ward-Prowse on the plane to Germany but I'm sure Southgate will be he'll bent on sticking with his favourites like Phillips, Henderson in midfield instead."

"He's better than everything other than set pieces. Tackles better, passes forward from deep better, presses better, carries the ball better, dribbles better, can drive the team forward better ... JWP without the set pieces is shit.. and with them he isn't all that. There's a reason us, Athletio, Barcelona, Juventus, Newcastle were interested in Phillips Oh and JWP was just us... We got him cheap because we had no competition... Well I say cheap but less than Southampton wanted because it was a buyers market because we were the only buyers"

'Oh and Phillips is a much better player than JWP' Much better player than JWP overall. Or a much better player than JWP at certain things? I would not say Phillips is alot better than JWP at anything in particular. Maybe pressing and defensive duties but we have that already in Alvarez.

Possibly but then that involves someone else being shafted which personally I don't really care about but then of course the problem just goes round and round. But there's no doubt we were absolutely robbed of two points at the weekend and it's crazy that it was allowed to happen.

RBshorty 3:23 Or Salah's skill for taking a well timed dive and fooling referees. Although I think that mostly just works because of the shirt he wears.

"ha! Well we are definitely thinking along the same lines and let's face it, it's what we've been screaming for for several years now. Of course you'll have to compliment it with some JWP type experienced players as well but that's fine. I'm OK with fishing for young talented players with potential. Chances are most either work out to be good players for us or at least useful without costing too much, or if every so often they are really special, I am OK with selling them on for crazy money to fund some more, if we can't make them stay or we don't take a step forward as a club to where we'd like to be. Ideally these sorts of players drive us on to continuous top six finishes. Who am I kidding. It'll all fall apart in six months as Sullivan loses his nerve, boots Stiedten and calls Barry Silkman."

"TheRoyal Gazette Goalkeeper Nathan Trott could leave West Ham in summer Nathan Trott could well be on the move again this summer. The Bermudian goalkeeper, 25, has been on loan at Danish Superliga club since August 2022, but his future remains uncertain as he has no plans to stay in Denmark after the season ends. A graduate of the West Ham academy, Trott has found it hard to break through at first-team level with the hugely experienced pair of France international Alphonse Areola and Lukasz Fabianski, who recently signed a one-year contract extension, blocking his route to the first team and it is increasingly unlikely that he will force his way into David Moyes’s side. Trott, who has represented England at under-21 level, could well be looking for a new club soon, with his West Ham contract close to expiring and he will be a free agent from July 1 if no contract is offered by the East London side. For now, Trott is concentrating on his few remaining months in Denmark with Vejle, who are second from bottom with just three wins out of 17 matches, and is concentrating on helping them to avoid relegation. “I think this season will be my last at Vejle,’’ Trott told Tipsbladet, a weekly Danish sports magazine. “My focus is just to keep them up right now, and of course you never know what the future holds. But I think I’m ready for the next step now. “I haven’t really thought about what will happen this summer yet. Of course, my loan agreement expires this summer, and my contract with West Ham also expires, but there is an option in my contract which gives West Ham the opportunity to extend the contract by two years.”"

"Kalvin Phillips - Pointless signing. He'll get swamped by our better midfielders and reckon he'll be shipped back to City. Out of the two, it should be Ward-Prowse in the England Squad. A shit hot Striker and a non -error prone Centre Half please! That should be the priority, not yet another central midfielder. 'Moyesie' Out"

Osman looks like a cracker.! Likes to run at a player. And has a pair of Afterburner's. All he needs is Mo Salah gravitational skill for standing upright. And we have another winner on our hands.
