Miike said he'd take Ange 'in a heartbeat'.

Sullivan is not a majority shareholder any more. He may be the major shareholder but that is not the same thing at all. Kretinsky & Gold could oust Sullivan from his role as CEO/DoF whenever they want, as together they own 52% of the club. They all share the blame if they let things go to shit, even if Sullivan is the main cause of it.

I reckon they’re letting him hang himself.
he’s the self appointed director of football and the majority shareholder so all the blame will be on him.

Re: If Potter would get sacked who would you want IN to replace him?
Marco Silva would be my shout. Plays attractive football, is used to having to get a tune out of an average team. Not a chance Sullivan and him would get on.
If not him then the Bournemouth manager Iraola as despite being a small fish they constantly perform well in games even if they don't win all of them. I want to see a team perform, I want to see a system that produces excitement, players who believe in it and some desire across the squad instead of it being just one or two players.
Potter hasn't delivered a system and although seemingly building a happier team, he has frozen out players, dithered with others and presides over some of the most disjointed and passive football in the league.

Trouble is, which compounds our situation, that the best manager to keep us up short term is not going to be one that we’d want past the end of the season.
The manager we want vs the manager we need are likely to be two separate things right now. Which just makes things even worse.

Robbie Savage. Clearly the best manager out there Sullivan can afford. But he is in contract and even at National League level the buyout may prove too much.

However, he returned at the end of the season (after Roeder, stricken by a brain tumour, was replaced by Trevor Brooking) and scored a winner against Chelsea in the penultimate game of the season, a game that boosted West Ham's chances of staying in the Premiership.[sup][27][/sup] However, they were relegated on the final day of the season after a 2–2 draw away to Birmingham City, where Di Canio scored an 89th-minute equaliser.[sup][28][/sup] He was released on a free transfer and signed with Charlton Athletic for the start of the 2003–04 season.[sup][29]
Wikibollocks[/sup]No one seems to blame DiCanio for that season we went down. But if I remember correctly wasn’t DiCanio allergic to away fixtures that whole season? There was something odd as he was always unavailable for selection. We also missed Kanoute for most of that season as well.
The final nail in the coffin was it being the first year the transfer window was introduced and Roeder couldn’t just buy a player when he needed. I don’t think clubs were used to stocking up and having a squad to deal with eventualities. All these factors just doomed us from what I remember.regarding away games, he (Paolo) was in the squad against Spurs, Chelsea, Sunderland, Fulham, Villa, Leeds, West Brom & Birmingham (8)
So missed half of our away games. Through injury?? It was always odd. I thought that Roeder couldn’t control him and he just did what he wanted. But was crucial not having him in those games.

Re: If Potter would get sacked who would you want IN to replace him?
I suspect the role is, as has already been mentioned, a poisoned chalice and every manager in the west will know it.
Sullivan will have to turn to someone somewhere like China or the Middle East - America even, who only has experience of the PL through television and is unaware of the way the club mis-operates.
6 months then rinse and repeat.
Sullivan will prove his ways are correct - he will, He Will, HE WILL!!!

Dyche is ferociously rubbing his thighs as we ponder...

Nuno. Offer him 5% of the club and get him in.

The most realistic option is either Cooper or Dyche.
I'd prefer Dyche out the two!
