"Phillips will start, Soucek is not as bad as many are claiming on here, and does not deserve the abuse he's getting! It's a squad game and both will get plenty of minutes."

"I find the Wilson rumor a bit hard to take seriously? hes the wrong side of 30, he's injury prone, yes, he has been good in front of goal but unless Antonio is crocked or being moved on OR it's a loan im out."

"Wilson? That’s about 5 years too late. He should have been signed when Bournemouth went down. But oh no Moyesy was adamant he couldn’t find anyone better than Antonio. No way should be touching him now, although he’d start for us if he did come."

Osman out on loan makes sense to get him up to speed with English football as long as it is a decent Championship side. Can a PL club still loan to another PL side? That would make even more sense as long as he got game time. Luton would be good.

"Wilson knows where the net is, but even if we are interested, which is highly doubtful, no chance he comes in unless we offload baldy first."

"“I don’t see our model that we should go and buy all the most expensive players in the world, because I don’t see that as a long-term future for West Ham. “I use the Red Bull model as an example, because I see them buying in young players for the future. We need to be trying to recruit for down below who are maybe going to come through in a year or two but we’re not quite at that stage yet. “At the moment we’re still looking for players who are going to give us a consistent first team. If we’re doing the same again next year I would hope we would start to say we are going to look down below more, bring more through from the Academy. “We’ve got one or two we like in the Academy at the moment - it’s not too long we had Ben Johnson up, we’ve got young Mipo (Odubeko) training with us regularly at the moment.” Yes, he actually said that."

"We'll have to beat off Red Bull to another one of their targets, with Wilson, I'd imagine. I still laugh at this: https://trainingground.guru/articles/david-moyes-west-ham-need-to-follow-red-bull-model-of-recruitment"

"Great news if we're after the same player as two clubs renowned for their talent spotting, and better that we've trumped them both. I wonder if Kudus had a word :) No guarantee he will be a success of course, but in Stiedten I trust. If he wasn't raw then we'd probably have missed the boat but I love us investing in talent at this stage in their careers. And they say the one thing you can't coach is pace. He looks very skillful, strong and direct as well. Almost a baby Kudus."

"To be fair to Dier, he lived in Portugal from the ages of 7 to 20, so probably went to one of them International schools with a hodgepodge of accents among the students. And in that vid he ain't exactly gone full on Herr Flick. It's barely much different than his usual accent."

"Football Insider Ibrahim Osman rejects two Premier League offers to agree to join West Ham - he could then go out on loan Ibrahim Osman has turned down offers from Brighton and Brentford in favour of a move to West Ham, sources have told Football Insider. Speaking to the new edition of Football Insider’s Inside Track Podcast, transfer correspondent Pete O’Rourke revealed that the Hammers are “confident” they will complete the deal for the FC Nordsjaelland winger before the end of this week. It is believed that the Irons have won the race over the Premier League duo after stepping up their interest in the 19-year-old, who will cost around £15million. Football Insider revealed on Wednesday (24 January), David Moyes’ side are in “very advanced talks” with the versatile attacker and are in pole position to sign him. He has now agreed terms with the club and a full agreement is close. Well-placed sources told Football Insider that Osman does not feature in the club’s plans this season and could be sent out on loan. Osman has had a prolific season for FC Nordsjaelland, scoring four goals and providing five assists across 29 appearances in all competitions. He graduated from the Right to Dream Academy in Ghana, the same esteemed academy that produced current West Ham star man Mohammed Kudus. The club have been active in the market this month and are expected to complete the loan signing of Man City midfielder Kalvin Phillips very soon. They had plans to bring in a new marquee striker this month, but sources have told Football Insider (24 January) that they have put this on hold until the summer as their top targets are proving too expensive to land in January."

"Bringing in a fresh face, someone keen to play well, gives an obvious boost to the club at a crucial stage. Shame Moyes didn’t consider that in the January window where we didn’t bring anyone in at all. Phillips is a current England international. The days when we had to shop in the bargain basement for an unknown who’d risk playing in a struggling team seem to be long gone."
