Summer Transfer Window 2025 | Official Thread

Post stubbo-admin »

May as well get going with this since with Sullivan at the helm, season ticket renewals slow, and the football vacuum to commence, this will soon be all the "news" there is.

Can Potter and MacCauley pull multiple rabbits out of the hat, or will Sullivan 'try really hard' with all of them before grabbing a few aging bargains from Big Willie Salthouse?

Yeah cos we're well short of wingers, let's add a really comical one!
Yeah we are, got Bowen and Summerville thats it.  Ghillurme is out and Summerville has injury issues.  I would take another one in 100%

Lindelof, Sancho & Elliott to Villa.

None of those 3 inspire me.

Think the midfielder we need is another physical athletic type like Magassa
Vieira is a light weight inferior version of Paqueta & Fernandes
The striker mentioned was talking about retiring due to his chronic knee problems
NO THANKS

  • Vieira off to Hamburg (touted as the Paqueta replacement)
  • Boniface off to Bremen

Double thank fucks.

No decent strikers appear to be linked nor serious activity on any decent CB options. This deadline day is gonna be a zero I think.

Igor? Marty Feldman as a CB will be interesting. Suppose he can spot danger quicker than most players 😉

Igor of Brighton mentioned earlier as a centre half possibility
Seems Palace are moving for him. If done they will let Guehi go to Liverpool

If we get a centre half, and a pack forward who can play up top or on the flanks, I think that would make it a very good window. I hope the defender is Cresswell, as I think his heading in both boxes is something we badly need, proper attacks the ball a bit like Dawson.

With Guilherme to come back, that will give us enough cover up top if we get one more in. Fingers crossed.

Only lacking a younger CF.
Hopefully Magassa lives up to the expectations but he’s not had many minutes, sounds like there is some bite and energy there, Nicks agent mate at C&B has been trying to offer Kaio Jorge, young quick striker apparently just called into the Brazil squad, different to what we’ve got, not big money and it would be good to show some ambition for the future.

We need another winger. Summerville and Bowen not enough unless Potter happy with 4 cms starting game in game out.

See Villa are trying now for Elliot.

When all said and done. I think we have had a good window when you look at the outs and ins.

Diouf looks a sensation and him and Summerville can be potentially as a good as any top PL teams left side. Fernandes looks like the energy and ability we needed in midfield and he and Paqueta can be very exciting. Magassa you hope will be as good as he is said to be. Callum Wilson looked good yesterday and fingers crossed he stays fit. KWP looked decent yesterday. I also think despite a shaky start the keeper will be good for us.

But for me and many others its the manner in which we get to the final squad. Again, like previous years, there seems to be very little planning and vision. As another poster said, Fernandes and Magassa should've been done in June. GK done earlier. You do wonder if we had one our first two would we have even signed Fernandes and Magassa? It will never be any different under Sullivan because he has no recruitment policy and has no vision. It's like owning a car and just fixing it when it breaks rather than having it serviced yearly.

Sullivan will be in full cash flow protection mode now having had to buy 2 last week.  I suspect Aguerd will go for £19 million with a decent immediate payment and Sully will look for a loan. Hence Cresswell wont happen unless Toulouse accept a loan to buy. Everything we have done has been on the “never never” a ponzi scheme that has been catching up. Sullivan has got the wage bill down by a £1 million a week I saw someone quote? Is that right
? Younger players we are bringing in perhaps not on very high wages.  But hopefully itmeans we bring in players that improve us unlike last season.

Igor was the one that Bowen left behind when scoring the Conference 🏆 winner wasn’t he?
Id prefer C Cresswell despite Toulouse conceding 6 v PSG at the weekend
