Summer Transfer Window 2025 | Official Thread

Post stubbo-admin »

May as well get going with this since with Sullivan at the helm, season ticket renewals slow, and the football vacuum to commence, this will soon be all the "news" there is.

Can Potter and MacCauley pull multiple rabbits out of the hat, or will Sullivan 'try really hard' with all of them before grabbing a few aging bargains from Big Willie Salthouse?

We Def need cover at CB now Aguerd has departed. Can we hijack the Palace move got Julio? Ideally like a Striker too but with 4 hours to go its not likely.  If we can get a CB in and move Rodriguez out (if for anything else so Potter isn't tempted to play him) it will have been a good end to a satisfactory window.

Much talk of Harwood Bellis but I also like the other Saints centre back, Ronnie Edwards,  classy young player

At 2.30 with a 7pm close you’d hope any deal is close to finishing rather than throwing new names around
Probably more likely it’s a loan or two that other clubs are keen to get off their books rather than an in demand player
THAT should have happened 6 to 8 weeks ago

Wouldn't be happy with that, but I've got the feeling that we won't be bringing someone in. In fact, I'd be surprised if we do sign anyone.

Would be a real shame, as I think 2 players added could see us have a really good season. If we don't, we're a couple of injuries away from a disaster. Namely to Mavropanos, and who would have said that a year ago.
This would be a mistake as the Monaco lad is shit in the air. Aerially dominant CB and pacey striker for me.

Yeah cos we're well short of wingers, let's add a really comical one!
We have four and the manager doesn't like wingers....

We need a CB with Aguerd going. 3 centre backs is not enough.

Sterling?

If Irving is staying that makes 7 CMs. more than last year! Need Rodriguez sent on his way or maybe even Potts off on loan somewhere?

Yeah we are, got Bowen and Summerville thats it.  Ghillurme is out and Summerville has injury issues.  I would take another one in 100%

Lindelof, Sancho & Elliott to Villa.

None of those 3 inspire me.

Muani to Spurs on Loan.

Think the midfielder we need is another physical athletic type like Magassa
Vieira is a light weight inferior version of Paqueta & Fernandes
The striker mentioned was talking about retiring due to his chronic knee problems

  • Vieira off to Hamburg (touted as the Paqueta replacement)
  • Boniface off to Bremen

Double thank fucks.

No decent strikers appear to be linked nor serious activity on any decent CB options. This deadline day is gonna be a zero I think.

Igor? Marty Feldman as a CB will be interesting. Suppose he can spot danger quicker than most players 😉

Igor of Brighton mentioned earlier as a centre half possibility
Seems Palace are moving for him. If done they will let Guehi go to Liverpool

If we get a centre half, and a pack forward who can play up top or on the flanks, I think that would make it a very good window. I hope the defender is Cresswell, as I think his heading in both boxes is something we badly need, proper attacks the ball a bit like Dawson.

With Guilherme to come back, that will give us enough cover up top if we get one more in. Fingers crossed.

Only lacking a younger CF.
Hopefully Magassa lives up to the expectations but he’s not had many minutes, sounds like there is some bite and energy there, Nicks agent mate at C&B has been trying to offer Kaio Jorge, young quick striker apparently just called into the Brazil squad, different to what we’ve got, not big money and it would be good to show some ambition for the future.
