"The money you claim he had generously made available has all come from player sales He constantly flogs players at the last minute with no time to sign any other players and then hopes people like you forget about it Which seemingly works The signings we made this season came from the Rice money, what happened to the sky money and the profit from the sale of Scamacca?"

Re: Official Transfer rumours and gossip thread
"In he pre-match presser for the Man United game Moyes revealed the club’s winter window scenario saying: “We wanted to strengthen in January. I think if you asked most managers then they would say something similar. We worked really hard to bring in an attacking player as well but we couldn’t quite get there. There weren’t as many transfers in this window, certainly big transfers, as there have been in the past. Ok, so we tried. Everything is ok then! Fucking misconduct. Management worthy a pub team at best."

Re: Official Transfer rumours and gossip thread
"Onsideman We cant have it both ways ...we cant blame Moyes for spending 1/2 a billion and serving up utter turgid dross and then say Sullivan wont spend any money... which is it? Im not a Sullivan fan but he has allowed plenty of money to be spent on transfers. Whether he's spent it wisely is up for debate. The only real grounds were his and Gold's taking interest on the loans which always felt a bit dodgy, but not illegal."

"RootsRadical 1:08 Sat Feb 3 Re: Official Transfer rumours and gossip thread Indeed. Only positive is Cornet gets more minutes now and might come good. I wouldn’t count on it, he started jwp out there the other night and brought cornet on in the 95th minute."
Re: Official Transfer rumours and gossip thread
"BillyJenningsBoots 1:34 Sat Feb 3 Surely the point is valid if Sullivan's long-term intention is to sell the club with maximum potential yet minimum debt, because that's where his big bucks will come from, not 'nicking' the odd £1m here and there"
Re: Official Transfer rumours and gossip thread
"Yes comma, great that we got rid of players whose time had probably come here. Not so great that we have literally zero senior options from our bench now in an attacking sense and an injury crisis could well see us struggle to field a competitive side (not that attacking is Moyes priority, of course)."

Re: Official Transfer rumours and gossip thread
"Maverick180 Sullivan isnt filling his pockets with West Hams money, he cant as yes it would be theft... its not his money its the clubs and if he chooses not to spend it that doesn't mean he's taking it out of the club... do you not know how football clubs work how old are you 10!"
Re: Official Transfer rumours and gossip thread
"For me this recent window was better than I expected. We got shot of three, heavily and regularly criticised, players who are not up to top half of prem standard . And we brought in a very good midfield player and his addition improves our best eleven though our overall squad now looks thinner. Importantly we never wasted our money on a not up to much striker as we did last year."

"For the people trying to be optimistic thinking we didn’t bring anyone in cos Moyes is going at the end of the season…unfortunately no The truth of it is, our owner is and always has been a thieving little crook who’s main intention is to fill his pockets with as much money as he can whilst trying to spin that he has the clubs best intentions at heart and unbelievably the majority of our fans believe him"

Re: Official Transfer rumours and gossip thread
The only positive is that Moyes might give Cornet a go on the left or be really bold and play SCARLES George EARTHY could even get a run in midfield. Surely? I know thats dreaming and we will see JWP out of position on the left and Soucek (SOUCEK!) as a no.10

We were told we have to sell to buy in this window . Well we did sell so where’s the replacements? Apart from a loanee player who we did not need. Joke of a club

Re: Official Transfer rumours and gossip thread
"When you see the likes of Broja going out on loan and Unal turning up at Bournemouth, you can tell there was some business around to do. I personally never expected us to go out and whack 30 odd million on a player and the Osman transfer I never believed because of the figures involved but if we wanted Fornals and Benny off the books, surely Moyes would have wanted at least one in on loan to take their place. It looks so short sighted and like I said before my only hope is that they are trimming the squad down to the bare bones so a new manager can come in and fill out the squad with who he wants. Remember we lose the likes of Cresswell and potentially Johnson in the summer too."

Re: Official Transfer rumours and gossip thread
"Yesterday i thought Benny and Pablo looked like they were staying but see they are both off now, WTF happened with that though? club look bunch of Muppets the way this has been handled. And now what, we look weaker than before the window? Least the club could do is offer some kind of explanation, and why the fuck do we have a DOF? surely it would come under his job to seek out and find players, so unless there is very good reason fans have every right to be bit fucked off."

He gave Soucek a bumper new contract before gettign Phillips and has never looked likely to ever do anything other than continually play him.

Re: Official Transfer rumours and gossip thread
"Why on earth have we used the window to actively weaken our squad? Even worse is the ONE bloke we did sign just complicates our line up more. An overrated defensive midfield player that has barely featured in the last 18 months, that we didn't need."
Re: Official Transfer rumours and gossip thread
Oh well. 3 or 4 more points and we’re safe. Money was tight again this window and we are saving some wages with our 20 person squad although its really 14 as 6 wont get the customary 5 mins at the end that the 2 or 3 subs he will only use will. Its like being frozen in time in the 70s. Seasons over by March when we exit tye Europa and have nestled back in 10th or below. Like the proverbial Xmas decorations After 3 seasons we got our old West Ham vack proper. Shane we spent half a billion along the way

Re: Official Transfer rumours and gossip thread
"Personally I hope this means the club are looking to go in a different direction come May and are attempting to save money now to give a new manager a decent amount of money to spend and a chance to rebuild the squad around the already good players we have such as Kudus, Bowen and Paqueta. However that's the ideal scenario and what will no doubt play out is that Moyes will get another 2 year deal and we will continue with this mantra of not having enough squad depth but plenty of fucking excuses as to the reasons why we can't push on as a football club."
Re: Official Transfer rumours and gossip thread
"Really impressive January window. Money in bank and wages saved, all thanks to Moyes securing premier league football for next season before the end of January. Why wouldn't the club want another 30 months of that?"
Re: Official Transfer rumours and gossip thread
"Moyes never warmed to Benny. Always played with a smile on his face, until recently. Same for Fornals, that spark had gone. Neither bad players, but both needed a new challenge, although weakening your squad without replacements going into the business end of a European competition, and trying to compete domestically to finish well is not the smartest idea."

Re: Official Transfer rumours and gossip thread
They really have fucked up this time. There won't be many seasons where we will be pushing for a European spot. We have to take our chances when we get them. To come out of a window weakening the squad is suicidal.
