I’ll wait until I see it on the pitch and how it’s supposed to work but on paper that’s a ridiculous line up. Sure it’s our ‘best 11’ players but how are they supposed to all play together? 4 central midfielders and two strikers zero width at all. Zero. Or just no centre forward. I bet anything he’s using Soucek as a false 9. This is a taste of things to come if he’s insisting on not dropping or rotating any of those 4. Especially if he’s basically selling half our attackers at the same time. What does he want to do? Win everything 0-0? This is at best bonkers and at worst plain embarrassing. Don’t get it at all.

Think some (myself included) were hopeful that bringing in Philips meant going to a 433 formation. If we aren’t going with that at home to Brighton off the back of Ings and Cornet having good games previously then we never well. A negative approach once again. 4 cms on the pitch is just not needed against even the best of teams.
