The Price of Love - Bryan Ferry - original - The Everly Brothers

Breaking down the walls of heartache The Bandwagon (Northern Soul anthem and classic) but for me The Dexys Midnight runners cover was better.

Because the night - Patti Smith
To be fair Bruce Springsteen’s original wasn’t finished and he gave it to Patti Smith who added some lyrics

Copy Cat 🙂 Tbh the original would be better if not sung in Danish. This is the original writers version.

That song still terrifies me.

I was once in a pub cover band that used to play it. I had probably played and heard it a few hundred times at that point. Bass and drums had started the song and I was supposed to come in on guitar however many bars later.

My mind went completely blank. I hadn't just forgotten how to play it, I couldn't even remember how the riff went so I couldn't even fudge it (badly) on the spot.

I went over to the singer and explained and he sang the riff in my ear, then it all came back to me.

Not a fun moment on stage but the crowd who had clocked what was happening probably due to my look of absolute terror were pissing themselves.
