Should be an improvement enough to keep us up, but doesn’t feel like the club is changing course for the better.
You've only got to look at his record to see that we are changing course for the better.
Whether it comes off or not is another story, but that applies to anyone taking the job, even moreso as it's West Ham under Sullivan.

also Fulkrug the same way he did with wood is similar to Fulkrug.
Normally I'd agree but the big difference between those two is 1 isn't anywhere near as injury prone as the German Carthorse with almsot double the amount of career apps. Fullkrugs as reliable as a chocolate teapot.

oh and LOL at the Kilman being reborn as Bobby Moore spiel. That cսnt is fucking useless and no-one could ever improve him.

Re: Potter Sacked!
I'm excited.
Think he will get a tune out of Kilman given their history (and sort the issues out in central defence) also Fulkrug the same way he did with Wood who is similar to Fulkrug.
Doubt he will start JWP and hoping he will integrate Magassa more quickly.than Potter intended to.
He might even recall Alvarez in Jan if that's an option in the loan deal.
Will be interesting to see who starts in goal (Areola is my bet) and at CB too.

He had to go and well done to the board for sacking him before any more damage was done. Nuno can be nothing but an upgrade on pathetic Potter the personification of a fraud.

Just kidding. He did say this though:
“I was a big, strong boy but I had so much to work on. [Nuno improved] my game understanding and my physicality. When, I came in I had never played five at the back so I’ve had to adapt and understand my role as a defender. I’ve had to become stronger and sharper, and that’s what I lacked when I first came into Wolves.
“I had to know when to press, when to get tight to my man, when to cover, and understanding how to cover round my wing-back and work as a five.
“Nuno and the whole staff don’t just say, ‘It’s good enough’. There’s always room for improvement and they’re always trying to find ways to make us that little bit better.”
He looked solid when Lopetegui kept Wolves up but he had better quality around him pointing out where he should stand...

Re: Potter Sacked!
Jeez a loo!
Well, he certainly wasn't the solution either
Granted, that doesn't absolve our problematic ownership but apparently people are already working on that one...

Re: Potter Sacked!
Reading JLC Goddard post, just think how cheap we could have got Kilman for before he became the world’s best defender!!!

Next manager need to be either Glasner or Iraola , break the bank to get the man you want, don't go for the unemployed option.
We're about to appoint another out of work manager that won't require compo. The Sullivan Way.

Results have been awful and confidence is rock bottom. But still 34 games to go so no panic.

We need to see our young players being given a chance, attacking football and sort out the shell shocked defence.
What's odds on an away win on Monday? LOL

Re: Potter Sacked!
Hopefully, a few players can hide Kilman in a broom cupboard somewhere and just pretend we never had him.
Nuno: ”I saw Mav, Todibo and Igor at first-day training. It wasn’t great, to be honest. But I thought we had another centre back on our books?”
Team: ”Not that we’re aware of, guv. You must be thinking of Chelsea. They’ve got a lot of spare bodies.”

im hoping the timing means the new manager is able to take over for Monday. which was the only reason for it being done now.
will be very interesting what happens to JWP, Kilman and Hermansen etc. I don’t think Nuno (I gather it’s him) will fuck about with who he thinks is working and who isn’t.
may you live in interesting times as they say!

Kilman- well I don't know how much choice Nuno or any manager has with that albatross.
It was Nuno who first believed in him for Wolves. So in that regard appointing Nuno makes sense there having given him his debut and worked on his game.
'Kilman has increased his presence in the first-team year on year since, having made his debut against Fulham at the end of his maiden campaign. Drip fed into the team primarily though Europa League games in 2019/20, opportunities increased with football behind-closed-doors under Nuno Espirito Santo, who developed him into a central defender comfortable in possession.'
'Max Kilman's debut for Wolverhampton Wanderers was in the Europa League qualifying match against FC Pyunik on August 15, 2019. His first senior start for the club was in this game, which Wolves won 4-0.'
That’s actually a bit of a relief. I had forgotten they’d have likely worked together before.
Re: Potter Sacked!
Recruitment channel opening up via Jorge Mendes with Nuno.
Sullivan keen to comtinue his “one for the future” recruitment strategy after getting Callum Wilson in. Some Portugese lad called Ronald ?
Ronaldo Macdonaldo? A clown on the pitch symbolic of the clown at the helm of our club.

Iron Duke" wrote: ↑27 Sep 2025, 12:19 Everyone is assuming that Nuno will drop JWP. Don’t forget he brought him to Forest in the first place. I wouldn’t be so sure.
And then quickly dropped him and sent him back. The only way JWP plays is if a second successive manager thinks the alternatives are just so shit that he’s preferable.
Re: Potter Sacked!
The Board have quickly worked out that after a few games there is not, in today’s PL table, the usual relegation fodder of the last few seasons. It’s going to be a dog eat dog season in the table’s bottom half and Potter demonstrated, quickly enough, that he was not the man to guide our squad to security this season.
last season there were three teams significantly worse than the seventeen others but it’s not the case now. Apart from the odd timing of the sacking it’s better to be done sooner rather than later.
