Hammers United Protests | Who's Going?
So next Saturday is the first protest with a pre-game march.
Thought a thread to organise within the context of WHO, who's going, anyone that wanted to get slurps before and after etc might be worth doing.
I'll confirm the logistics of things and post them up as well.

Wasn't that one of the issues Photo IDs are intended to stop?No one checks. I have a ticket in the lower tier, but I sit anywhere there is gap recently. Completely different block. Those Indian's checking aren't really paying attention.
Does anyone at a football ground in the home end ever really check tickets unless someone (on rare occasion) asks where their seat is? Most people already know where they are going. As for sitting in an empty seat, it's sort of fair game to take the chance if you're that way inclined until the person who owns it turns up, as long as you vacate it when they do and don't act like a dick about it.
No way would they ever ban someone (an STH for example) who isn't there but someone else has just come and sat in their seat. How on earth is it the ticket holder's fault if that happens? I maybe could see people being banned for repeatedly just sitting where they like, acting like a twat and refusing to move if asked, but otherwise no-one is causing any harm and it's not worth anyone's time or effort to do anything about it. I couldn't care less who might chance sitting in my seat if I'm not there seen as it's a decent one, as long as they don't piss off the folk who sit nearby.

If it was a Britcard they'd be right on the case.

I won't be relisting either. I don't think it matters if it's only 10% that honour the boycott, as long as its noticeable that is all that matters. They will worry it gets worse.

I thought this happened only if the game was sold out. So are they trying convince me that the game is sold out so if I'm thinking of boycotting I won't bother? Or have they changed their rules for this one because they're desperate for me to relist if I'm not going?
I've been on the previous demonstrations and am very ready to boycott this game (and obviously not relist), as long as it looks like being worth it. I'll be very pissed off if I don't go and then find that the ground looks more or less full.
They're desperate. They've been on one panicking about sales for a while harrassing me to by a Season Ticket all summer long. Was very noticeable how much it was effecting their sales strategy and I'm sure that's only carried in with regards to what you say.
Famous last words but I'd be amazed if the Stadium is more or less full. I really think this will be an eye opener for a lot of people at the strength of feeling amongst the fan base who will swerve this one. But it's up to you to still go if you wish, no issue with that as it's your ST end of the day.No, I won't be going. Everything they do is making me more angry.
If its any slight consolation there's many of us that feel the same. Also it's 1 night you don't have to trudge down there in the cold for a shit product served up.
I feel a bit sorry for Nuno though as it'll be his 1st game in charge at Home and he has to walk in to a disaster zone like monday might with scores of fans staying away, when normally it would be packed out. Just bad timing for him unfortunately. It's not a good enough reason for people to call off the boycott/protests, even though I'm sure that was Sullivan and Brady's cynical hope...

Re: Hammers United Protests | Who's Going?
From £34 when the game is on the Telly against Brentford on a cold Monday night in the shithole with a publicised protest? Yeah, can't see them shifting a great deal of those to Tourists. I'm actually not too fussed about hospitality tickets being sold as they are less visible the most of the ground that will be on display.

P1'travel are trying to punt out hospitality from £69 and match tickets from £34.

The stewards never seem to check anyone's tickets as they enter the blocks.

Re: Hammers United Protests | Who's Going?
Being a televised game under the lights, I'm not sure it could be that hidden even if that was the case moving to lower seats. I can see Sky Sports lapping up the images because of it being a hot topic at the Club right now widely discussed and they tend to do that pitch side reporting these days too. If there's barely any empty seats looking like normal, then they definitely won't bother.

I reckon it'll look less than half full. Possibly even closer to a third full. Whatever it turns out being the Club will still announce on the day it is yet another 62,000
sell-out..
sell-out..

Re: Hammers United Protests | Who's Going?
They will probably advertise the cheap tickets in the Metro next week and continue to push the reduced hospitality packages.
As I mentioned earlier the empty seats / spaces belonging to absent season ticket holders are likely to be filled by those higher up in the stands moving down for a better view.
That will leave empty spaces elsewhere in the ground but probably not be as visible on the telly thus nullifying the impact.
The ground will be two thirds full made up primarily of tourists and bored kids throwing paper aeroplanes whilst sitting in the wrong seats.

Re: Hammers United Protests | Who's Going?
Can't imagine a game against Brentford on the telly on a Monday night being that popular with fans of other teams rocking up in their thousands instead where it won't still make a significant impact should those STs decide to stay away. Had it been a big Club in town turning up, then yeah I could see that been likely but not for this type of game. Will be interesting to see how it turns out.

Depends if other fans buy up the cheap tickets and ruining it. I've no problem with those that have St still going as I don't know their situation so I won't judge. But others giving up their paid for tickets which has obviously got them a bit rattled and that pressure being voided by other fans buying cheap tickets is just helping BS... Some I know have bought kids for a quid and not planning on using them.

Re: Hammers United Protests | Who's Going?
I can’t get down on a Monday night, so again I’m there in spirit. That said, while the first one was a decent turnout, there needs to be more.
My concern is that it’s all very nicey nicey. I think the board need to know they’re not welcome and the protest not to feel like the local book club has turned up to protest, and in fact is is West Ham telling them to fuck off.

Re: Hammers United Protests | Who's Going?
Nobody is sticking them on resale and resale only opens if it's sold out anyway.. So now they're selling tickets cheaper than season ticket cost, nice
Is it cutting our nose off to spite our face?
I don't think it is they're just trying everything they can to give them bad publicity and trying to pile some pressure on.

Re: Hammers United Protests | Who's Going?
If you're a STH and boycotting, then surely just don't sell or relist your tickets. Then there's no chance they can backfill the seats. As most seats are STH seats (are they not?) then if they boycott and haven't relisted there should be swathes of seats. More than usual for the last throes of the Potter days.
