Listening to his press conference he seemed to say:

I saw some shit things in the 1st 2 games.
Thought about doing something radical to fix it
head got turned in international break because I started seeing squad members I don’t normally think about at training so got carried away with how good they actually are
Found out that they are actually shit but needed to see it for myself. Doubled down just to make sure they really are shit.

Thats my take. We don’t technically have players good enough to just do radically different tactics at this level. He also alluded to the fact that there are players that look good in training but that’s not that same as in a competitive match 

looking at what’s happened with him it looks like he’s not gone completely mad but has been way too optimistic. We know a lot of our players are shit, we see it every week. So our results against Everton and Arsenal seemed positive and something to build on. He just looked at that way differently than we did. 

I just hope he really has given his head a wobble and he realises this is a proper battle here. We have unfit and completely tactically unaware players that have been like this for years.

Paqueta is a toxic presence.

The way he plays, the lack of a defined position and all the stuff that surrounds him is a nightmare. 

Club should take £25m-£30m for him, ideally from abroad and just move on.

Nuno like Potter and Moyes initially, think Paquera is a no 10. He’s not. He had a poor season or so in Italy in that role but ressurected his form at lyon as a deeper lying no 8. Same for the national team.  Moyes played him deeper eventually many times out left to link with Emerson. He is not good with his back to goal, does not possess the speed to play on the half turn and is a huge risk to turn it over or waste it if closed down quickly.  Deeper he gets a little more time he needs and can get his head up. Still can be a risk but pkayed in a midfield 3 gives some mitigation. He can actually tackle quite well and compete physically in the deeper midfield and less diving when challenged from behind.  Imho

The manager situation is all Sullivan's fault. When you have a policy of never paying compensation for a manager you are always picking from a pool of unemployed managers. This will always put you on the back foot because you are selecting from a pool of managers that are unemployed because they are not very good and have been sacked or nobody wants to employ them. Now, from time time, you can get lucky and if timing is right you can pull off a coup. But that hardly ever happens. 

After our Euro success and when things when stale with Moyes, that was the time to go and hit a club with an offer they can't refuse for a top manager. At the time perhaps Eddie Howe? I know we flirted with Amorim but Sulli refused to pay £8m compo for him. Amorim has had a tough time at Utd but looks like he may have turned the ship and I think we can all agree that the likelihood of us being in a better place right now if we had employed Amorim is extremely high.

Crack Head has no logic about his selections apart from his first game.
Kept it simple and even brought on Potts on the hour. We scored soon after and could have taken 3 points if he had then not had a spoonful keeping Fulkrug on until the 94th bleedin minute. He was fucked and this could have contributed to his body breaking down once again.
He was so negative against Arsenal that a defeat was inevitable.
I'm having a go as it seems Nuno has had 4 games and wasted them.
Potter did this too. This has nothing to do with Sullivan if our managers are so inept and useless. What do they watch whilst waiting to be remployed. Nuno knew he would be the leading candidate once he left Forest.THE CRACK HEAD was probably getting a fix whilst counting his millions.

The team that ended the Leeds game, showed that is was capable of getting something out of that game. Wilson will get chances, and score, if he’s given the opportunity too, like against Forest. Any pressure Nuno might now feel, is of his own doing.

We all agree Russ. What perhaps should be understood though is that even though starting Potts , Magassa, Fernandes most games will guarantee improvement in central midfield, the appalling squad as a whole still may prevent the results we need being achieved against many teams.  That said, there will be a much better chance even if its getting a draw not a win.

The lack of a target man / striker and losing our best CB ( low bar ) will still limit what we fan achieve results wise and Nuno needs to come up with something a lot better than false 9 Paqueta.  On the subject of Paqueta, play him deeper or bench him from starting. 

I fully appreciate that picking your best side does not always get you results. But, as you rightly point it, what is does is always give you the best chance of a result. What Nuno has done in the last two games is so left field he has made himself look stupid and, as I said, he has become part of the problem. 

If Nuno picks the best team from the squad he has, which I agree is appalling, then he cannot be directly blamed for that as he has had no influence in the make up of the current squad. By going left field and picking players in wrong positions and playing out of form or not good enough players, he puts himself directly in the firing line. 

Agree on Paqueta - For me he is midfield or bench. Not left. Not striker.

That applies to the vast majority of players and managers whether English/British or otherwise. Unless a player or manager is 'West Ham' any affinity they claim to have is usually platitudes and good PR. Sometimes a player or manager will come to realise this is 'their club' but for every one that does there are dozens who never give it another thought or a mention, even if they claim it when signing or while they are here. It's just a job to all these people.

He would probably be fine at Scottish Prem level but I think even the Championship would prove too hectic for him.
