"The problem is not only what CB pairing we line up, its how we soak up the pressure and allow the opposition to have possession. Low block equals high pressure on cb's and keeper. The stats shows it too. Mavro and Aguerd are probably our best defenders. Add Alvarez as a CDM and should be defensively enough."

"True, after 11 goals CBs should be dropped, yes give Mavropanos and Ogbonna a go. Aguerd in particular has been terrible defensively. I'd stay with Coufal though."

Mavropannos and ogbonna are obviously the best combination as the centre half duo . For a manager so petrified of change why did he change it .?

"Go with Mavrapanos and Ogbonna worked well against Arsenal and Brighton. Cant be any worse than Zouma and AGuerd. Actually, it definitely wont be."

Mex Martillo 9:32 Fri Feb 23 Aside from the CBs and possibly Coufal that would seem about the best line up and agree that Kudus central is worth trying as I think he played there at Ajax some games albeit as an out and out forward. Aguerd will get bullied and we looked stronger with Mavrapanas until Moyes benched him for no reason. Zouma looks old and broken but need him for his aerial ability against Toney which is still ok. Johnson instead of Coufal since he is a bit stronger and faster imo Only other option might be Aguerd at left back and Emerson wide left? But all these ideas will be too radical for Moyes and his unimaginative system. Soucek is a definite starter for Moyes as a weird kind of no 10 and he’ll probably put JWP alongside Alvarez which will mean we are weak in central midfield. JWP is not a defensive oriented player.

"Sadly, I see nothing more than a dreary 0-0 or a loss. Not a goof time to play Brentford, they were falling like a stone at one point, but have now won their last six, and this run being parallel to Toney's return. Just shows you the difference having a decent striker can have. I hate being this negative. But it's just the reality of the situation. We aren't defending well, our midfield looks unbalanced and off the pace. Kudus and Bowen look easily nullified. No proper options from the bench after the sale of Benny and Pablo. And without Paqueta we lack real craft. Brentford now looking dangerous, will come here favourites and they will have their tails up and will be expecting to win. Toney will be looking at this game and licking his lips. He's far too wily four our current defence and must be an absolute nailed on to score one or two. I will be extremely surprised if we win this. If we do lose, as I predict, questions will be asked. Most importantly, where do we go from here?"

"Usually hate Monday games, but as said maybe this is a good thing as we will be sharply in focus, Moyes under big pressure. Martillo - I would go with Dinos and Johnson over Coufal and Zouma. I doubt Moyes will start Cornet, but he better not put Johnson out there again."

"Doesn't look like Paqueta will be back. Phillips suspended. We have 2 big problems, defense is crap, mainly our useless CBs and no one connecting backs and forwards to take the ball forward. I think we struggle on with the defense, because I do see any better options and put Kudus in the middle and see what he can do. Areola Coufal Zouma Aguerd Emerson Alvarez JWP Bowen Kudus Cornet Antonio"

"Without Paqueta I'd fear for our chances against Dagenham u12 Ladies let alone an organised Brentford team with a proper striker 5 successive Premier League defeats against them is a shocking stat .... WINNING , its not what we do it seems Have said previously that a stand alone Monday night tv game will surely bring things to a head if we fail again I will be there hoping for the best and getting behind the team but fearing the worst"

"Although reports suggest Paqueta is a couple of weeks away from playing Moyes is hanging in there hoping that when he does come back then he will save his season/ job, probably if he’d got a decent striker in during the summer then his job and new contract would already be signed and sealed."

If he picks Aguerd and Zouma as CBs then Toney should be licking his lips. No Paqueta until Burnley is latest info unless Moyes risks him breaking down again yo save his skin It might just he that Moyes charmed life is finally over

"Mine will be on at every opportunity until the end of the season. A paltry £21 in club cash if this one sells but despite being in London for work, I’d rather go home and watch than go and watch that rubbish and get home after midnight. I’m out until Moyes is out."

"Judging by the number of seats available on the ticket exchange, looks like there is going to be a similar message to the board as the half time exodus v Arsenal, but from the off."

"You would think defeat to Brentford, Everton and Burnley would be enough to see him off but we will probably limp to the end of the season with him in charge! Goals from set plays have dried up and the only other 'tactic' was Paqueta threading a ball through to Bowen or Kudas, abysmal!"
