Winter '25/26 Transfer Rumours Thread
Well seems like with all these international breaks, and us languishing, the rumours of ins and outs are rife.
Chuck anything 'worthy' of discussion on this thread...
Re: Winter '25/26 Transfer Rumours Thread
Elanga might be a possible loan target.
Well known to the manager, not getting much of a look in at Newcastle - walks in to the team ahead of Summerville, or could play in a counter attacking front 3 with Summerville and Bowen.

With the PSR rules being changed we should actually have more room to find transfer funds this window. The problem though will be Sullivan being shit at negotiating transfers, and being in a position most quality players won’t want to move to.

Yeah, even if he's just knocking about the place like the ghost of christmas past hopefully it's enough of a deterrent and warning to avoid relegation

He absolutely cares (about the financial implications and how it reflects on him personally, only) but he’s dug himself a hole over the past three seasons that’s just too deep to get out of now. He’s been constantly pushing his luck by half measures annd shortcuts and cutting corners presumably just playing a waiting game to get his hands on the stadium and it’s finally caught up with him and there’s no way out.
He’s at the point where it’s do nothing and go down or spend 100 million plus and maybe just escape.

May as well save our money for our championship assault, as more chance of me having a go on jennifer lawrence than there is of us getting more than 35 points regardless of who we bring in.

Agree. I think both managers have probably been told not to start him regularly because of the cost. What sort of fucking way is that to run a club? I could understand if we had two good reliable strikers also at the club meaning we wouldn’t need him that much but behind only the made of glass cowardly cսnt Fullkrug it was obvious to anyone we’d end up relying on him as first choice striker for stretches of the season.
Sullivan absolutely fucked over both managers by yet again not addressing the striker situation in any meaningful way.

My overall point is that it nearly worked. If Bowen puts that pretty simple chance away, it works. No one talks anymore. It's not like teams are smashing us to pieces or we are not making chances.
Your overall point is nonsense, as per usual.
Re: Winter '25/26 Transfer Rumours Thread
We should have fucking won yesterday end of story and we approached it all wrong. We needed to go at Fulham and knock them back on their heels with an early goal or two and instead we play cagey blocking shite with no striker until our defence cave. If Nuno doesn’t wake up and see the light soon we are FUCKED if we aren’t already. I see it, you hopefully see it, 99% of the fans can probably see it but apparently not our manager.
Nuno: please, Have a fucking go and let’s win a game.

Firstly, no one is saying flog the 33 (he's still 33 FYI) striker in every game. But for fuck sake, at least start him in must win winnable home games, he's barely starting him at all. Every time Wilson is on the pitch, we look a miles better team and at least some sort of goal threat. What is he saving him for? Next season's Championship campaign?
Secondly, no one is saying go all out attack, all the time. However, you don't seem to have noticed, but we are getting further and further away from the teams just above us, we're now 3 wins away from Leeds, by playing this no striker/no attack 11, we've only won 3 fucking games all season. We could've dragged Fulham right into it by beating them, and yes, I am saying we should be going all out attack to beat them cunts at home, yet he starts the game with 4 central midfielders, and no striker yet again, a selection that has seen us not win a fucking game yet?
Your 'serious ideas' include not worrying about picking up points, which you said on here a couple of weeks ago. Bravo, that's what we've gone on to do, and what do you know, we're 5 points away from getting out of the bottom 3, and once again, I'll remind you, we've only won 3 games all season, we can't afford to just wait for the transfer window and see what happens, that's stupid talk.
If this magic transfer window you're expecting goes to plan and we'll have no problems whatsoever staying up, why not, up until then, actually try to beat fucking Fulham at home by attacking them, instead of packing the midfield and limply losing yet again?
Teams down the bottom don't go on crazy runs like they used to, we are not going to go unbeaten for 10 games, regardless of who we sign. So we need to be picking up points now, and a home game against Fulham is one of the most winnable we'll have all season. To not start our only striker was criminal, you have to be an absolute idiot to suggest anything else.I don’t agree with not starting Wilson. But I UNDERSTAND why.
He’s obviously trying to manage the situation. On one hand you want the team to learn how to play with what they have. You literally have one joker in the pack (Wilson) to get you out of trouble. So I just think he’s tried to balance it out using him sporadically so he doesn’t break him.
what people do with stats is cherry pick to make a point. Yes he has had 2 wins but he’s drawn quite a few. It’s not like he’s been miles off results in every game. The other day we lost from a goal that would have been disallowed. Yesterday it was bad kick from our left back. People are making out like we’re getting run through by teams. Villa who are a few points off the top managed to beat us with a crazy goal from way out.
my point is when you watch the games we aren’t that far away from getting results. We are a balanced team without cutting edge. I don’t see any coach getting much more out of this side that Nuno has.
It’s hilarious with Wilson as well. The player most of us didn’t want at all. Is now the key player that you think would be saving our season. Ironic really.
No one is cherry picking anything. He's not managing the Wilson situation, he's just not fucking playing him.
The point you seem to be ignoring, and it's the main point, is that yesterday was a game we HAD to win. A potential relegation rival, at home, we haven't won since we beat Newcastle & Burnley (when Wilson started both games) he absolutely had to start him yesterday. It's fucking bizarre, and ridiculous, to argue that point.
For the record, I've been backing the manager up till yesterday, but picking 4 central midfielders and not picking our only striker, was a disaster, and absolutely has to be called out. Stop being a contrarian dipstick because you like him.
I know you are not bothered about winning points at this stage, but everyone else realises that points are critical, especially when playing fucking Fulham at home. Plank.
I dont think Fulham were ever realistically a relegation rival. So no, thats not the point. Yes we need points and I agreed that I would have preferred Wilson to start. When Nuno was fucking about early on in the season I was one of the first to go nuts on him. I just call it how I see it. I only care about whats positive for the club.
Wilson has played in 13 of 18 games this season. So he is being "played". He played Marshall over Wilson a while ago which was nuts to me. He also put on Fulkrug before Wilson as well at one point. Both haven't worked. I'm just guessing he actually thinks a lot of Wilson rather than to the contrary. So he clearly is trying to "manage" Wilson's time. Thats just my guess. It's not as if Wilson isnt the same type of player as Chris Woods was for him at Forest, so it cant be he just doesnt think he's any good. He puts him on to save games so he must believe he can do that or why bother?
As I said, I dont agree with it but I understand why he might be doing that. I think if he gets a new striker and a winger that actually scores on the left, we will probably see more of Wilson rather than less because he can afford an injury to him. Right now, in his mind he really cant afford an injury to Wilson.
Whats bugging me is if either Wilson or Bowen was in injured what would we do then? I dont think gambling is a strategy. I actually think thats poor management. Moyes flogged Antonio to death in the same way.

1 fucking 34 yr old striker with a crazy injury record is meant to last 13 games! We’ve got a game in 2 days, is he meant to do 90 there as well?
we allowed the last manager to bomb out players who are starting CL games for Marseille!

no, what's hilarious is you thinking this useless cսnt can pick and choose when to select our only recognisable striker, and start most games without one in the team.
I’d lay money on Nuno being told he can’t start him every match by that Fucking bingo caller jacket wearing skinflint in order to save a few bob.
Geezer clearly can’t be relied on anyway. He tried but he’s just not good enough to start games. We need at least one actual premier league quality striker in this window. Probably two.
