Winter '25/26 Transfer Rumours Thread
Well seems like with all these international breaks, and us languishing, the rumours of ins and outs are rife.
Chuck anything 'worthy' of discussion on this thread...

to be fair to Ake, he did start regularly for City over a couple of seasons. was only last season were he fell out of favour.
Phillips never troubled the starting XI when he went there.

One of those where we could all see it was completely the wrong move with disaster written all over it, aside from our manager and owner. Staggering, simply staggering. And we have been proven right with him doing absolutely fuck all since, either.
Starting to get worried we might see him in our colours again next season actually. It’s more his level.

Fucking hated the thought of us going for Phillips and he sure didn't disappoint in proving how utterly hopeless he was. A Moyes classic.

Re: Winter '25/26 Transfer Rumours Thread
Kalvin Phillips is right up there with the worst of our transfers, even though he was a loan. Lazy out of shape disinterested and shit. An absolute liability and in a position we didn’t even need a player at the time. Actively made us a worse team. Fucking bizarre player from England ‘darling’ to scrap heap in two years. Even though it was pretty obvious when in the same team that a young Rice was light years better.
For once I guess the blame is not Sullivan’s as Moyes was coveting him, I believe. Dreadful dreadful business though.

The Board should request we change the slogan on the rented carpet that we don't pay for in front of the rented players tunnel from 'THE ACADEMY OF FOOTBALL' to 'WE NEVER FUCKING LEARN'.
Re: Winter '25/26 Transfer Rumours Thread
None hopefully. If he's having his contract terminated he must be even worse than before.

8 PL goals/assists, usually with the opposition doubling/trebling up on him after 17 the year before.
Summerville has managed 4 since he joined us.

Re: Winter '25/26 Transfer Rumours Thread
Our record with Man City cast offs is pretty shocking - we can add Wayne Bridge, Joe Hart , Samir Nasri and Pablo Zabaleta to Kalvin Phillips - bit harsh on Zabaleta, I s'pose.
I'd imagine that Ake will attract more secure offers from elsewhere even if we are keen.

Re: Winter '25/26 Transfer Rumours Thread
Anyone know how solid the AKE rumours are.?
I'm not sure about him rocking up at ours.
Smacks of Phillips all over again.?
Hardly played all season and if Man City are happy to loan him out that's a red flag for me .
A fit and firing Ake up for the cause ....yes please!!... but if he's actually fit and firing he wouldnt be entertaining us in our position...Shirley?

Re: Winter '25/26 Transfer Rumours Thread
True, the new keeper was shit, and the Kudos money was nowhere near enough, it's Sullivan counting he pennies
Re: Winter '25/26 Transfer Rumours Thread
Selling Kudus and not signing any kind of player of the same calibre and profile did much more damage in my opinion, along with wasting money on a new keeper.
Re: Winter '25/26 Transfer Rumours Thread
This starts and stops with our GLORIOUS LEADER.! Anything else is noise. And Deckchair shuffling. The problem is. Captain Sullivan has already run the ship into the iceberg.!
PRIMED FOR THE DROP.!

Potter has a lot to do with this; he got rid of Cresswell, Antonio and Coufal, Fabianski came back, I would take all three back for this relegation battle

Jaan Kenbrovin" wrote: ↑29 Dec 2025, 14:38 With the PSR rules being changed we should actually have more room to find transfer funds this window. The problem though will be Sullivan being shit at negotiating transfers, and being in a position most quality players won’t want to move to.
And pursuing his own personal targets or being played by his ‘mates’ over what is actually wanted and needed by the manager.

Re: Winter '25/26 Transfer Rumours Thread
We have money available.
We sold a share in the Ladies team (49%) recently which eased cash flow.
The biggest concern for me right now is that striker is needed and getting a half decent one that can hit the ground running is next to impossible.
Our defence is not strong but serviceable...but without us creating more chances and having a way to threaten more consistently, we don't stand a chance.
We need two wingers IMO (one who can play centrally if needed) and at least one out and out striker who is capable of holding the ball up and running the channels.
I'd argue we really need a creative number 10 too, as even when Paqueta is on form he's a ten who works hard without being hugely creative.

But you said he doesn't care? Don't really make sense mate, him not caring about losing about half a billion value on his biggest asset, but fair enough.

Re: Winter '25/26 Transfer Rumours Thread
People have been saying, maybe let's just wait till he brings some of his own players in, then we find out that it's strongly rumoured that 1 of them is Adama Traore.
Re: Winter '25/26 Transfer Rumours Thread
Elanga might be a possible loan target.
Well known to the manager, not getting much of a look in at Newcastle - walks in to the team ahead of Summerville, or could play in a counter attacking front 3 with Summerville and Bowen.
