I agree Nutsin. Unfortunately Paqueta and JWP had one of their poor games but overall we weren’t so bad as we have been at times. I think Moyes is allowing us to attack more but we don’t seem able to keep the ball. I wasn’t at all surprised when Areola saved the penalty nor when Soucek scored. The Alvarez goal showed his determination and stamina topped off with the skill to lift the ball over Pickford. I’m looking forward to the next few games at last….

End to end, riding our luck away in Liverpool, they were given a penalty Zoo could do absolutely fuck all about as his arm was slightly behind him and essential to his balance as he got the ball blasted at him. A heroic goalkeeping effort, a goal RIGHT at the end of the game, then STILL feeling hard done by that West Ham were beating them at home they commit everyone forward and Eddy the beast dinks a lovely clipped ball over the England keeper. The ref even gave them about another ten minutes added on time but with EVERYONE against us, from the officials to the co-commentator on the stream I watched we PREVAILED. LOVELY STUFF."

"I think Areola, who really is a very good shot-stopper though still not always the best overall keeper, really saved Moyes’s blushes again. The cunning plan of letting inferior opposition have the ball only worked because of him for most of the game; they really should have been out of sight before we equalised and our attacking superiority got us the winning goals."

First half was dreadful by both sides. They were absolutely there for the taking and were as bad as any side I’ve seen this season. Them scoring seemed to wake us up a bit. Also having Antonio’s ‘presence’ made a big difference to our attacking game. Good result in the end but let’s not pretend that Areola hasn’t kept us in it. Fantastic goal by Soucek. I’ve been trying my hardest not to dig him out because I love his attitude and commitment. Alvarez was probably as good as any outfield player today.

"We rode our luck at times but I thought we played okay too, and there were a few stand-out performances. Kudus always looked a danger and was rewarded with the assist for Soucek’s brilliant goal. Soucek played really well himself and is hitting some form. He is valuable at both ends of the pitch. Alvarez had a decent game and that was a glorious finish at the end. Great weighted and timed pass from Bowen too, who had one of his quieter days. Areola obviously had a great game and the penalty save was crucial, along with that point blank stop from McNeil. A brilliant result when all is said and done."

"I watched the entire 90 minutes, and to be honest for the most part it wasn’t great performance. They could and should have been out of sight by the time we equalized. We have Areola to thank. Yes it’s a win and a great win but it’s another of those confounding results we got away with to some extent and the score line flatters us a bit. We hung in there and a smash and grab at the death. That’s not ungratefulness or fickleness and I’m not unhappy about it, it’s just an honest appraisal of how the game unfolded, we didn’t play particularly well!"
