Football Super league rumours yet again !!

Post ted fenton »

"Manchester United, Liverpool, Arsenal, Chelsea and Tottenham Hotspur all agree to plan. Five English clubs are among 11 European teams who have signed up to a breakaway Super League in an extraordinary development on the eve of Uefa's announcement of a new Champions League format. https://www.nytimes.com/2021/04/18/sports/soccer/super-league-united-liverpool-juventus-madrid.html"

"The irony of all this is that FIFA and UEFA are corrupt and show their immense greed restructuring their tournaments to fill the coffers more and then they decide where the money allocation goes, So they can't really preach can they."

"This is a prime example of how globalism works. They break down the cultural and social ties, move the jobs to where its cheapest and turn everybody into serfs. I wouldn't be surprised to see Man Utd or Arsenal rebranded and relocated somewhere cheaper, like Indonesia. Its just a brand, remember. You can pay £80 to buy a football shirt because you love your local team, knowing its been made by slave labour in a sweat factory run by communists. Its great!"

"The Premier league should have awarded the game to Leeds tonight. Showed some real intent and some bollocks. Its about time they stood up to the big clubs and said enough is enough. They have completely undermined the whole league, concept of it and everything in between. Absolute fucking disgrace and no doubt they will get away with it as £££ talks."

If ever there was a game that we have to win it's chelsea at home on Saturday. Beating them would show this whole load of bollocks euro sooooper league up for what it really is. Money grabbing nonsense.

"goose 10:50 Mon Apr 19 There’s no benefit in letting six clubs get sole access of up to 350m extra over the rest of the PL competitors. They simply can’t stay in the PL. Without them the league would be more competitive, and more interesting. The CL viewing figures have fallen in recent years, and I don’t know any real football fan that would pay to watch an ESL. I think it’s doomed to fail if by some expensive legal work get it off the ground."

Real Madrid and Barcelona already take 60% of the entire revenue out of the Spanish league and its still not enough to compete with the top of the Premiership. And the fans there also know it. Same goes for the Italian teams. I would imagine most of the board members of these teams can’t believe their luck when this was offered to them.

Paradise. We be getting £300 million from Day one. Just for signing up. And any debt will no doubt be covered by loans from JPM at a generous rate. After 3-5 years we dropping £50 million + for a back up keeper.

"Rbshorty still think we would be long odds. We are skint and for us to compete in any meaningful way in that league we’d need investment. The other names you mention do have access to money, we unless Tripp Smith can access some $s, we would struggle from Day One. Now convince me that Tripp Smith’s presence was there in anticipation of this and I might get more convinced. This remember is an investment (the funding will be syndicated out) and having one of the principals as ex guest of her majesty, ex porn baron, now skint isn’t what they are probably looking for in the shiny pitch brochure"

"If they can have this ESL and keep the PL gravy train running they’ll go with that. A PL without the big 6 means less money in the long run. OK then....but why should the likes of us and Leicester not be allowed in, assuming we finish top 4 but the likes of Arse Liverpool and even Spuds who will not even qualify this year most likely be welcomed? THAT is the criminal element in this."

Once we kick out these teams out of the Prem Simple thing to do is reduce the size of the premiership to16/18 teams then we only need 3 teams from the championship. So less games also win win for the new teams playing in Europe.

So the gov are talking about the 50+1 model... I’m guessing that would mean nationalising part of the football club to get the shares in supporters control Could be a nuclear option

The other 14 will vote wherever the money is. If they can have this ESL and keep the PL gravy train running they’ll go with that. A PL without the big 6 means less money in the long run.

Dortmund were approached and said no. As did Bayern. The ownership rules over there wouldn’t let it happen. Good for them.
