If, in so doing, they confirm what Perez says and clubs cannot produce evidence of legal withdrawal then they will very likely be in breach of their contractual obligations to the PL. The PL/FA needs to proceed with all the alacrity they can muster to ensure punishment is enforced THIS season (being when the whole thing publicly originated). So is the PL going to ask the breakaway six for legal documentation to show they have cut all ties together with the terms of the original contract? Or is the PL so in bed with the ‘top’ clubs they won’t even ask for that?
