Police apply for more funding for Madeleine McCann search
"FFS! Surely enough is enough? http://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/2018/02/12/police-apply-funding-madeleine-mccann-search/ Detectives investigating the disappearance of Madeleine McCann have applied for more funding for the search. The Home Office confirmed that it is considering an application from the Metropolitan Police for more money to keep the probe, called Operation Grange, going. A spokeswoman said: ""The Home Office has provided funding to the Metropolitan Police for Operation Grange and the resources required are reviewed regularly with careful consideration given before any new funding is allocated."" Government funding for the investigation has been agreed every six months, with £154,000 being granted from October last year until the end of March. More than £11 million has been spent so far on the probe to find the missing girl, who vanished from the family's holiday apartment in Praia da Luz in Portugal in May 2007, aged three. Madeleine's parents Kate and Gerry McCann, of Rothley, Leicestershire, have vowed never to give up hope of finding their daughter. In 2011 the Met Police launched its own investigation into what had happened to the toddler."

"Nonsense. Yes, that's what's already been decided. Sometimes it's just rude to ask, isn't it."

Not fun if it's leading towards yet another tedious and risible HIGH RANKING GOVERNMENT PAEDOPHILE CLUB conspiracy. Bloody nonsense.

Anyone mention Clement Freud yet? Or Matthew Freud's friendship with Cameron? And Rupert Murdoch? Of course not. What's THAT got to do with a limited line of enquiry?

£11m spent so far. The whole story is whiffy. Albis storys' (the Tapas 6 or 8?) didn't line up. Dodgy parenting. I read somewhere that Gerry had hit his Mrs on at least one occasion. Who would have known kids were alone in the Chalet? I can't imagine what it must be like to lose a child through neglect like this. There's been no trace in 10 years. Let it go or McCann's pay privately. Need to get real now.

"PB. There is a detective on record as saying he turned down the gig because he was told by senior officers what he could and could not investigate. It's all googlable, I expect."

"The Scotland Yard detectives have been told categorically that they CANNOT investigate the parents, Crassus. They are only to consider abductor theories/evidence."
Re: Police apply for more funding for Madeleine McCann search
"To further investigate the parents? Just a thought like, given the fathers alledged interest in matters of previous government....."

Can't we just nationalise Derek Acorah for the Scouse mum? Be as much use.

After 10 years you wonder what conceivable leads they could be working on day to day. About 7 years ago I'd have asked for a complete run down on what had been achieved in the previous 12 months and shut it down then. Unless Mr and Mrs McCann were happy to pay the bills.
