Europa League final

Let’s now look ahead to this huge game on Wednesday.
I guess we’re all gonna be cheering on the Red Devils in this one?
Spurs are missing some key players, but unfortunately I believe it’s just their time to end the drought.
Massively envious of the two finalists here, both have had similarly disastrous domestic campaigns, yet both had very impressive European runs.

Didn't bother watching it and sounds like it was a turgid watch.
Also a massive anti climax for spurs to scrape a 1-0 agaisnt an extremely poor Manchester team in the final.

I watched the match and it was a bit gay. I thought I had put the women's final on by mistake.
People around Europe will be going online to look at the premier league table trying to find out about who the teams are playing in the final. It's a bit embarrassing and demeans the competition to have such lowly entities competing in a final.
Unfortunately, the record books won’t have any emotion towards anything contextual
The facts are Sp*rs have won a main European trophy and we are going to have to lie low for a while.
it’s a hard one to take!

I actually believe there is more discussion on the match to be had.
I found it gripping from start to finish and it was a rather enticing affair for such a high-stakes game.
Just gutted about the ultimate outcome!

No I say leave it open.
We are in shit street and our bitter rivals have won a trophy.
this is the place to show our hurt, anger, dismay and tell Spurs what we really think of them

You could say Summerville & Fabianski were Championship players as they’d just been relegated with Leeds & Swansea
See how Palace have done with the likes of Wharton & Eze
Ideally you are looking at players around 22 to 24 who have had 2 or 3 seasons of some tough Championship football
Another alternative is players from overstocked youth squads & fringe players at the likes of Chelsea … maybe they’ve got the next Rice, Salah or DeBruyne hanging about
Salah and De Bruyne were both fucked off by Chelsea. In the space of a couple of years.

Usual UEFA cock up I expect
Imagine both teams sold what they were given & lots parcelled out to touts for a backhander
Yeah bit like they did to us. Fair point.

Not saying them particularly but the likes of Dewsbury Hall at Chelsea & McAtee at City are destined not to force their way in in those bloated squads

I agree, Sven,
Three's tonnes of ex Chelsea and Man City yoofs that have gone on to have excellent careers at the top level. These kids for those 2 teams are the best in the business at their age, normally. Just because they haven't broken into the Chelsea or Man City side at 21 doesn't mean they're not any good.

Why was the stadium not full , loads of empty seats all over . Really empty top tier. These teams surely big enough.
I was thinking that.

They completely fucked up the format of the Europa League which has made it piss easy for the likes of shockingly poor bankrolled sides Man Utd and Spurs to reach the Final. It's right they dont allow the Champions League dregs fall down in to it anymore but doing away with group stages and making it in to 1 giant League format has created what we see today.
And you can add the increase in the number of teams in the CL under it's new format taking more of the 'cream'. Leaves quite a shallow pool
True, how many Champions League places do Premier League Clubs now get? 5 or something daft last I heard.
They are watering down all the European Competitions that half a fucking League Table can now qualify which is excessive. Actually looking at this it could even include up to 11 Teams...

Our success from buying British has definitely come form those markets, Rossal. Cresswell, Antonio, Bowen.
I've no idea why we haven't bought more from there. Even Summerville looked decent before he disappeared off the face of the earth.

British championship talent should be our stomping ground. If not then championship talent full stop.
If we go into Europe then Ligue 1 and Eridvese seem to be improving and cheaper than the top leagues

I just want better players, I don't really care where they're from.
If you look at our recent history (last 5 years?) with buying BRITISH players, then it's very hit and miss.

The problem with having home grown players is that the bean counters look at them as pure profit so are liable to be sold to meet profit/ loss regulations. Also, read it somewhere that these 2 teams managed to get to this final due to their premier league physicality, but obviously when they play in the premier league they are not upto it.

Agree Branded. At the very least you need PL ready players. Bringing in loads of players who need 6-12 months to settle isn't ideal.
